OK here are a few Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary Bulgaria, Israel. We actually turned our back on a modern democracies (though probably not by your view or the ne'er-do-wells of the world) in favor of 3rd world Marxist states in Rhodesia and South Africa. We looked the other way during the Shah's fall and got railroaded. One case where we have not been forceful enough in favor of democracy is Cuba.

"OK here are a few Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary Bulgaria, Israel."Don't forget Slovakia. When the Wall came down, Czechoslovakia agreed to a friendly separation into the original states. It is two countries now, Czech Republic (Bohemia, Moravia) to the north, and Slovakia to the south.
