Republican lawmakers are shaping their own plan for fixing the state's fiscal mess that takes a cue from the federal government, rolling over part of the state's massive budget deficit at least one year into the future.
Senate Republican leader Jim Brulte plans to propose stretching the task of filling the state's current deficit over two years, along with a slate of other fiscal reforms, as part of a long-awaited GOP plan to address a $26 billion to $35 billion budget deficit.

It beats a headline like this!
GOP roll overs on state's budget
California would certainly take a big hit if we did the legal thing, but California stands a good chance of a larger collapse or several years of depression if the Republicans cave into the liberal pressure to continue the huge entitlements and spending sprees.
I'm afraid that if the Republicans are willing to bypass state law and increase short term indebtedness they are probably also going to be willing to increase taxes to assure redemtions of these short term bonds.
I guess next cycle conservatives should vote for facists because it looks like Republicans aren't willing to carryout the mandate that their constituants worked so hard to accomplish.
Here in Wisconsin, state spending is at $47,000,000,000 this year. That comes to $7833 for each man, woman, child, and transgendered soul in the state. State spending of $31,322 per household per year is a bit too bizzar for me to think my legislators should defer their responsibility until next year.
What could the state possibly be buying for $31,000 per year in the way of "services" for me and my family?
If we want people from Enron to go to jail, I think we should just lock up all state legislators in the same prison. The feds should be next.
