Yes, and after a while, he really WILL need some "mirror work," (referring to his Stuart Smalley character) because he won't be successful.

"The over/under on shows before cancellation would probably be around eight."

Days or weeks?

In fact I think we should do everything we can to make sure they get their own network.

The bottom line of the current political era is that Americans cannot trust a Liberal to defend the country.
The American people are anxious, irritated, annoyed, sleepless, alert and most of them have emerged from a brief interlude with the notion that the world would go back to the way it was pre-911.

Americans now understand this is WWIII.

In that context, Al Franken, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and a host of other liberal democrats are irrelevant and embarassing.

As far as democrats are concerned, they need the likes of Sam Nunn, Scoop Jackson, and a Harry Truman to persuade the American people that they can be trusted to defeat terrorism and preserve our freedoms for future generations. Instead, democrats have made their bed with the likes of Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi. They also have a legacy of imposing an uncontrollable socialist budgeted government on the American taxpayer and in today's economy the American people are looking for smaller leaner government.

Americans remember the broken promises and the excesses of the democrat agenda. They remember the failure of the last democrat president to follow through in removing the threat of terrorists and their supporting states.

Al Franken will not be their solution.

With every occasion that democrats call G.W. Bush "stupid", there will be the corresponding occasion where a terrorist calls G.W. "stupid" and the association will doom the democrats.

The democrats are screwed.

Underestimating your enemy is the first sign of hubris leading to failure.

The number of people who might listen to Al Franken are probably the same number that showed up to protest war with Iraq. They guestimated what, 100,000 in attendance? Imagine that, 100,000 total radio listeners.

What I don't get is why "liberal money donors," whoever they are, think that their money is going to get anyone on the air even if they do create a "network." It's still up to each individual radio station in the country to decide what programming to carry, and they're not going to air shows that nobody will listen to!

The only possibility I can think of is that they're going to try to create what amounts to the Liberal Infomercial Network. In other words, they're going to buy a couple of hours of time per day on a bunch of radio stations, by offering more cash than the station could make with a real program in whatever time slots they buy. And that will last about six months before Barbra sees the Arbitrons, throws a tantrum and stops the funding.

I'm confused. What the hell is NPR if not a Liberal TalkRadio/Classical Network? :)

He's become as pathetic as Michael Moore. No longer funny - just grossly out of touch.

"Ever listen to a liberal talk show host? They cannot make a logical argument that stands up with the audience, so he / she is reduced to yelling at the callers. People are turned off and switch channels, ratings go down and the host is gone."

I use to at times listen to Alan Colmes. He isn't a comedian. Their beliefs are so stupid they come on as being funny. Makes me wonder how they have managed to gain so many followers. I guess with the Democratic label.

They will never have a successful radio talk show. If , it wasn't for the media they would have dried up and blew away along time ago.

I found today's Doonesbury amusing, for once, and topical:

Please, please! Put Al Franken on the air! What a joke, and what a disaster waiting to happen for the Dems. They just cannot figure out what to do, can they?

Liberals are so used to throwing money at everything, (usually OUR money I might add), that they probably think they can buy their way into our minds. But, what they neglect to realize is that radio is a medium which provides no immediate visuals like television. Radio goes from the ear and then directly to the brain. That short route to the brain engages the act of reasoning, thereby, enabling the individual the ability to spot a lie quicker than Bill Clinton can tell one.

Talk radio will always be ours.

"They will never have a successful radio talk show. If , it wasn't for the media they would have dried up and blew away along time ago"

Bingo Auggy,

You ever hear the old joke, how do you make a million dollars in the General Aircraft Industry? Start off with 7 or 8 million....

Well that is just what is going to happen with this venture. I say let them! Let Streisand and Co. pour 100 million into this venture, she will loose more money then the hedge fund she placed big bets in!

The Liberals don't get it and they never will. The talk show format will not work with there Left Brain way of thinking. Rush has is right and hasn't talked about it for a while. It takes a logical thinker who is engaged and can multi-task while they listen to the likes of Rush which is about ideas and not about feelings while doing something else.

A liberal talk show will degrade to feelings/right brain and piss away 100 million liberal dollars of investment. Maybe after the loss they will look at business taxes and the risk the business community takes quite differently.

And heck with Bush's new Capital Loss Deduction Maximum of $8,250 up from $3,000 on Sch D they can write off the loss for 12121.12 years!
