Photos from the Tower District "Peace March."
My guess is there was probably a couple thousand of "them" vs about ten of "us." We were pretty much alone on our little corner, at first, as a huge crowd began forming across the street. Hundreds of marxists, peaceniks, hippies and assorted weirdos kept streaming in until the parking lot was completely filled with a swarming mass of misguided humanity, and then they lined both sides of the street for about two blocks, including moving in on and surrounding us good guys. Learned first hand that the nice thing about being surrounded is, you can attack in any direction.
Them:
The good guys:
Present today: Jim Robinson, Saundra Duffy, Stuart Weil, At Bay, and several people who were with us last night. Sorry, I did not get there names. Plus, we were joined by a couple patriotic families who were attracted to our flags and banners.
After the street rally, they marched up to Fresno Community College about six blocks north of the Tower District. We positioned ourselves at the entrance to the campus and heckled "Saddam's Human Shields" as they passed to and fro in front of us.
One aging hippie lady couldn't take what we were dishing out and actually came after At Bay. He took a few steps backwards but the old hippie bull dyke kept charging. Hadn't been for a quick thinking police lady stepping in, I think the old gal would've given At Bay quite a beating.
Some peace rally. Oh, well. We were few in number but I'm glad we were there. There were camera crews and reporters present from several TV stations and newspapers. I'm sure they'll get a good write-up and I'm also sure that several of the camera crews got good shots of a handful of patriots proudly waving the flag amidst a sea of traitors!

Ah yes, "Taking money from the poor in one country, and giving it to the rich in another"...

The power to tax is the power to destroy.
I take a stand for the extreme postion of no taxes at all. I don't expect that will ever come to pass, but it's where I want to start the negotations!
In my expectations, we will end up with a low tax/fee rate that is purely a means of funding a small limited government.
The revenue system won't be a means of "social engineering", a term, which, as an engineer, I loath. I know of no other field of human endevor where the desired results are at such odds with the actual effects.

You don't sound as bad as the impression I get from your profile. *an odd way of giving you a compliment*

I'm also sure that several of the camera crews got good shots of a handful of patriots proudly waving the flag amidst a sea of traitors!...At the Philly "Peace" rally today was also a small group of ex-Iraqis who had fled from Saddam's regime over the years - actually got good coverage from at least one TV channel which described one of the leaders as a man who had watched his cousin murdered by some of Saddam's thugs - had him on camera saying "these people shouldn't be marching for peace in Philadelphia, they should be marching in Baghad in front of Hussein's palace, demanding justice from this murderer and war-criminal" - hope you guys got some of the same kind of "balanced" coverage.......

what does that prove? Yes I went, and I am glad I did. Doing your part to give aid and comfort to fascist dictators, eh?

the march I was at made a point to say how many HIGH SCHOOLERS were there ... uh huh, naive ignorant heads full of mush who could not tell Persia from Byzantium from Babylon, let alone would know what the heck Saddam is really capable of and what he has done in his over 2 decades of brutal dictatorial rule over Iraq.
Do these high schoolers even KNOW that saddam has killed over 1 million Iraqi Kurds, Iranians etc.? Do they have a clue as to the real evidence about the weapons of mass destruction, the 30,000 chemical warheads? Do they know about "halabja", the Anfal campaign, the prisons and torture chambers of Hussein? Do they know about the camps that Hussein has to train terrorists? about the meetings between 9/11 hijacker and killer M. Atta and an Iraqi spy in Europe in 2000?
Will ANSWER tell them that, now that Iraq pays some of their bills??
THIS IS A MUSHROOM MARCH - FEED THEM BULLS**T AND KEEP THEM IN THE DARK ABOUT THE EVIL FORCES WHO ARE REALLY BEHIND ORGANIZING THE MARCHES!

Your Thoughts? Not likely, but possible. We'll find out in the next few days I guess. They'll blame any such outbreak on the counter marchers and/or the government of course.

That is true and already has propaganda flooting for that. Which is also unsettling.
To: DAnconia55
It doesn't take Iraqi money to get commie to march. Promise them free tofu and a cause against capitalism, and they'll follow you anywhere. True, but somebody has to pay for the tofu, and all those professionally made signs and other props.
