Hairdressers? Sure, I'll buy that. They came from Iran for a hair show. Hmmmmm

Kudos to the flight crew for refusing to take off.

Kudos to the flight crew for refusing to take off. Until they allow the pilots to be armed, we'll see more of this.

Middle Eastern fruitcakes? That's a new recipe! On the way to LA to see Barbra, no doubt and produce a film with her (like another forgettable hairdresser did, whatisname!)

Kudos to the flight crew for refusing to take off.I agree. Unfortunately, it appears as American Airlines doesn't put the same value on such judgment calls. I suspect the next crew had no choice in the matter other than to walk off the flight themselves and risk reprisal. The rest of the passengers, of course, weren't even given that chance.
Is it getting to the point where we as passengers should ask before embarking if any passenger aboard the flight had been refused passage on a previous flight?

"They said they were hair dressers and the items were used in their work," he said. So the boxcutter was for a REALLY close neck shave...

When US citizens are found with $10,000 cash, it is taken under asset forfeiture, because there couldn't possibly be any reason, other than drugs, why citizens should "need" that much cash. But here are two ME men with box cutters on a cross-country flight with that much cash - and no mention that it was seized. Hmmmmm. Bumping WOD_list for this reason.

Until someone can produce a source on this story other than the incompetent boobs at WND that there was a "box cutter" I'm dubious there was one. And I strongly suspect the razors were in fact razor cartridges.
For whatever reason even non-drug-running immigrants tend to travel with a lot of cash or keep their money in cash.

"...got past the Transportation Security Administration's checkpoint at Dulles."I'm shocked, shocked!! Just the other day, a girl from Taiwan, exchange student, walked right past TSA through an empty gate. By the time these clowns got after her, her plane had left the ground. But of course, that didn't stop them from locking down everything and inconveniencing all the other travelers who were waiting for their flights. That girl could just as easily have been a guy named Abdullah with a shoe full of explosives. I have zero confidence in the airlines, airports and TSA to keep me safe on a flight.

When US citizens are found with $10,000 cash, it is taken under asset forfeiture,That happens with amounts less than 10,000. Sometimes less than $100. Basically, any amount of cash can be seized.
