Breaking away from the usual etiquette of international diplomacy, the Mexican consul general of Phoenix yesterday condemned proposed state laws aimed at clamping down on undocumented immigrants.
Expressing doubts the anti-immigration bills will pass, Ruben Beltran said the proposals are dividing a state where the Latino population is booming.

He equivocates Federal Immigration Law to state politics. I think he needs to re-read his job description.

The only thing illegals contribute to, aside from squalor and noise, is the size of various local government and NGOs set up to maintain their comfort level.
Sure he does, that's why Mexico keeps taking the US to the World Court when they don't agree with our laws.

For that is exactly what illegal immigrants from Mexico are. The population of our Third World neighbor has grown so large that it is unsupportable, especially with the consolidation of agricultural businesses.
In the meantime, Republican "thinkers" among others, think the Tide from the South is going to 1.)Save Social Security 2.)Give us the population growth they think we need to sustain economic growth, and 3.) Give us "family oriented" future Americans who will vote Republican, and thus counterbalance those native groups that automatically vote Democrat. Although each of these points is really quite problematical*, to say the least, this is why the obnoxious tide from Mexico is winked at, and allowed to continue, despite the law to the contrary.
I say put it to a vote. If the above is what a majority wants, so be it. Until then, I pray that George W. Bush emulates Christ after His trip to Jerusalem. He should get off his ass and straighten out the problem with strong leadership.
* each point is compounded of equal parts economic horsemanure and wishful thinking. The Border Bounders cost us money, as the Border States are finding out. ($8Billion in Ca, $1Billion in NM, God knows how much in TX.) The only country they make money for is Mexico. The taxes they pay are a drop in the bucket vs. what it costs to feed, clothe, house, educate them, and give them healthcare. Sure, waves of illegals join the ranks of the workers, but then, as the California experience shows, many of them also tend to go down the path of illegitimate births, welfare dependency, and are knee-jerk Democrats who give the Democrat Party hundreds of thousands of illegal votes across the country. It will be a cold day in Cancún before the Mexicans become the devoted Republicans of Karl Rove's Dream. Legal Hispanic immigration will turn the US into an Hispanic Nation anyway. What's the goddam rush?

Sooner or later these idiots will realize that the US decides the policies, not Mexico, despite their sick delusions that they think this is AZTLAN.
All aliens lawfully in this country already have a legitimate form of identification issued by their government (passport or cedula) or ours (visa in their passport, border crossing card or green card).
Has any one asked if "matriculas consulares" issued to illegals by the Mexican consulates in the US are accepted as a valid form of identification in Mexico itself? I think not. Every Mexican of voting age has a "cedula de identification personal" issued by competent authorites and entered into a database with a unique serial number. Not so for "matricula consulares". "Matriculas" are issued by consular offices upon application and payment of $29 fee. Good for five years. There is nothing to stop anyone getting multiple "matriculas" in any name from any of the consulates. There is no crosschecking against existing databases in Mexico.
Now then,what are those guys called that get paid to "guide" the illegals into our country?
It is the Liberal Left trying to Justify once again Breaking the Law. Apparently now they advocate that Federal law is a pretend law and doesn't need to be followed?
That will never happen because the vast majority of people would never support what's going on at the polls and the establishment knows it. So my guess is both political parties are going to continue shoving illegal immigration down our throats whether we like it or not.
The only way to put a stop to it will be through public protests, maybe a million man march into Washington.
Putting the capture of illegals into the private sector could solve a lot of our problems and get the job done for a fraction of what it costs a Gov. agency.
As long as I can get the permits to be legal and make an honest dollar I'm willing to catch about anything.
