I just saw a video clip on Fox News of the French welcoming Russian President Putin.

I was flabergasted to hear the band play the old Soviet Anthem.

Putin hung his head in amazement.

Tell me that the French are not a decade behind history!

No big surprise they're bringing back all of old USSR stuff. The whole lower half of the Russian Duma is old hard line Communists. I'd trust Putin as far as I could throw him. I'm still not convinced that he doesn't want to see a second coming of the mighty Soviet Empire. They've also reinstated in some places, the old hammer and sicyle flag if I remember correctly.

Heard a story over the weekend that when France kicked our soldiers off their turf when they withdrew from NATOin the 60's, Sec. State Dean Rusk went to Paris to talk with DeGaulle and reportedly asked him, "Just to clarify, when we remove our troops from your country, would you like us to remove the graves of the Americans who died for your independence as well?" Some form of that question needs to be put forth to Chirac today.
