MODESTO, Calif. -- A new search for Laci Peterson of Modesto gets under way this weekend.

Saturday, her family and volunteers will be searching the Delta-Mendota Canal area, west of Modesto.

They'll return there again each Saturday of this month.

The pregnant woman disappeared Christmas Eve and her due date was in early February.

Her husband, Scott, who admitted having an affair, has not been named as a suspect in the case, but police have not ruled him out.

Scott reportedly left the country and is in Mexico for a work-related conference. Our sister station KSTS called a Hilton hotel in Guadalajara.

A worker there confirmed a Scott Peterson was registered there.

So family and volunteers are still looking for Laci's body and the husband went to Mexico. Scott originally had the public support of his wife's family, but then things started coming out.

Bottom line, Laci and her preborn infant are dead, and it will take a real piece of luck to find her body. And Laci's family were snuckered by her husband, for a long time. Unfortunately, so was Laci.

On Greta's show last nite, it was stated police expect Scott back in San Diego today and if not, reporter said the investigation will take on a 'different focus', or words to that effect.

Doubtful that SP will be returning to the jurisdiction any time soon. Word is that there will be a search at a canal where the dogs picked up Laci's scent. Whether this is more disinformation from the authorities or not, we shall soon know.

Thanks for the Ping...THIS post is a statement of verification by Michelle Hart, the victim prior to Laci peterson,of Amber Frey,who was 1 1/2 mts +/- from delivery of her first child when she says Amber started an affair with her husband and did in fact cause him to leave her prior to the birth of their son. She says Amber had full knowledge of her marriage and prenancy. Additionally,she says,without permission Frey visited her son in the hospital one hour after birth with her husband. Further,the MPD's SHOW CASE witness held a baby shower for Ms.Hart's son and kept the toys from him...The romance ended shortly thereafter.
The verification below was given to me personally at my request..WITHOUT RENUMERATION..!!! This was posted earlier but thought some may have missed it...Amber is a massage "Therapist" with a gallery of SKIN PICS in this issue of NE.."I am told...":-0)

Just wanted to say thanks for the ping rb, appreciate the updates.

As far as Amber is concered, she certainly is no saint, but, that said, it still takes two to tango, and the fact that Michelle spilled it all to the NE for some bucks tells me revenge was sweet. Not that she didn't deserve it, just a fact. If Michelle had gone to the police and said, "you know, I was 7 months along when Amber began an affair with MY husband." ....that would be interesting. This is just so perfect, it smells a little too perfect, could the PR team be at work here? Going to a tab first always shades the story in the wrong direction, at least for me.

At this point, Amber is not a suspect, so I'm not ready to go down that road of slamming her to kindgdom come yet.

not once did I think Amber was a "glorious" woman....

I do admire her courage to face the media and state the obvious...

now she will take the brunt of her life lived immorally...

sometimes, being humiliated can be the best thing for you...maybe Amber will become better...

however....her actions have nothing to do with this case of missing Laci as told by the MPD except it does show what kind of people good old scotty hangs out with..

Just saw a brief interview w/Laci's brother on Tony Snow.
There a a couple of hundred volenteers searching Modesto's rual areas, waterways,etc. When questioned about SP's travels, he says he was aware that he would be traveling to Mexico, and has word that he may be returning today. Asked if he would be surprized if SP disappeared he said "no, nothing Scott does surprizes me anymore. With selling the car and trying to sell the house, I don't know what he may need the money for. Maybe bills or..funding to leave. His behavior is not of that of someone missing his wife."
