Noon Protest and Rally at the State Capitol in St. Paul. Not One Dime in Cuts that Hurt Poor and Working People! Stop the Welfare Cut-Offs! Come to the State Capitol on Opening Day to send a strong message to lawmakers that there should be NO CUTS to programs for poor and working people. Demand that lawmakers stop the welfare cut-offs that are throwing Minnesota families into hunger and homelessness.
Background information: Minnesota is facing a $3 billion budget deficit. Meanwhile, Minnesota's poor families are in crisis. Since July 1st and EVERY MONTH SINCE THEN, hundreds of Minnesota families and children have been cut off survival assistance, because of the cruel 5 year life-time limit. They are being forced into hunger, homelessness and suffering. Join us to send a strong message to Minnesota lawmakers. THIS IS A CRITICAL YEAR, WHAT WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE ELECTIONS LEAVING US with anti-poor and anti-immigrant politicians in the Governor's office and controlling the House. Demand that they stop the welfare cut-offs, and stop any cuts to poor and working people. Make the rich pay for their crisis! Don't balance the budget on the backs of the poor!
