Who cares?

Rummy is a big boy, so he ought to be able to take the criticism for his remarks.

This should read:
Klaus Naumann, former chaiman of NATO's military committee, said however justified German criticism might be of President George W. Bush's stance on a war with Iraq, [Fischer's:Schröder's:etc..] comments were no way to treat a loyal ally. "The USA is and remains a reliable alliance partner," he told ZDF television. "That's not the way to treat partners.

Maybe I am not mainstream, but I like the guy very much for his humor among other things. Besides that, he did not exactly compare Germany to Cuba and Lybia, he just said these were the three countries not wanting to deal in any way with the Iraki problem. The Germans must have a load of guilt to react like they do. Keep going Mr. Rumsfeld, nice job.

..on a par with Libya and Cuba. Who cares indeed!
The statement is actually an insult to Cuba.

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld faces a hostile reception on Friday from German politicians and peace activistsI just can't picture SecDef Rummy losing any sleep over what the Germocrats think.
As he said later he was simply pointing out that the current German leadership ran for office on a platform of ignoring Iraq.

As far as I'm concerned, the Germans are no different than the Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys. They're mad because Rummy called them for what they are. Who the H*ll cares......

They're just not used to hearing anyone in the government stand up for the US after the last 8 years.
Too bad!

I like Naumann. And he expresses what all of us think.
We´re NOT COMPARABLE to US ENEMIES. Rumsfelds words were criticized by politicians from all parties.

Those three, Lybia, Cuba and Germany WERE the three countries that said they refused to help the US (PERIOD) in the Iraq war. Truth, not an unfounded dig. Shroeder chose to run for office on his anti-American stance, now, he can eat those little balls of self immolation.
Rummy is my hero, tells it like it is, and will be remembered for his straight talk, like it or not.

"the statement is an insult to Cuba."
Excellent point! At least Castro and his followers have a belief and a cause. Nutty as it seems I prefer dealing with unreconstructed Marxists than with this modern, valueless Europe. It's unfathomable that the culture that gave the world Notre Dame and Chartes, Beethoven and Mozart,Beowulf and Les Miserables should today be so empty of content that their currency portrays imaginary buildings and landscapes.Their leaders see nothing beyond trade agreements.Their people see nothing for which sacrifice is worthwhile.
To: Take Some Responsibility
And your words from a people that had lied ("I had no sexual relationsship with Ms Lewinsky!")!
Now, think again about blaming a people for the words from single persons.
