It would be nice if NASA would release the picture.

I'd guess there was a lot of uniform linear motion blur in the original image. Some image processing may have been required to get a discernable image.

I hope they will release the pre-processed and post-processed images.

The camera that took the pic is capable of panning at a high enough rate to eliminate motion blur, if it were rotating rapidly about any of its axis (pl) that is a different matter
