Sources inform ''Globes'' that billing giant Amdocs (NYSE: DOX) is readying to transfer several hundred employees, together with their families, to Frankfurt, Germany, in case of war with Iraq. The move will take place in the near future, and apparently applies to about 1,000 people (including families). As previously reported by "Globes", Amdocs began preparing to transfer workers as of last summer, but their destination at that time was St. Louis, where the company's US headquarters are located.
Due to the recent terror events, the US government has made obtaining work permits very difficult. Amdocs therefore prefers to transfer staff to Frankfurt while at the same time examining options in other countries.
Amdocs's spokesperson said in response: "At this time, Amdocs has revived the procedures and preparations that events in this region require. We must stress that more than half of the company's workers are deployed at dozens of service and support centers around the world, fulfilling client needs. In Israel, Amdocs operates five different centers to ensure flexibility during emergencies within the country's borders. In addition, the company enables thousands of employees to work from home during an emergency. Regarding staff transfers abroad - the matter will be considered according to what is needed, and is, in any case, a limited number".

Considering the huge telephone directory contracts Amdocs has recently been awarded here, the U.S. work permit process should be streamlined for Amdocs employees.
