Said White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer 'Ultimately, we will see what the French decide to do. They have have their position known at this point. But as the President engages in consultations, as the President presents the facts and the President listens, the President will also lead.'
He rejected comments by a key United States defense advisor, Richard Perle, who reportedly said France was not the ally it once was. Perle is the head of the Defense Department Policy Review Board, which has an advisory but not a policy making role in the Administration.
'President Bush knows that France is and will always remain an ally of the United States of America. France has the right to make decisions independent of the United States of America and other countries in the world,' Fleischer said.

I never thought I'd say this but SHUT UP ARI/BUSH! Perle was right. France is right now asking for more inspections as I type this. They DO NOT CARE about anything Powell showed them. They'd be happy if we all died.
I'm sick of this crap. The bombs better start dropping by sundown, and France and anyone else who doesn't like it can go to hell.

Damn right. Perle is saying it as it is. I guess the White House has to maintain it's diplomatic relations publically, but I hope Perle's message has been delivered from the administration privately.

He rejected comments by a key United States defense advisor, Richard Perle, who reportedly said France was not the ally it once was. I maintain that France is exactly the "ally" it always was. In the peak of the Cold War they withdrew from NATO, knowing that any attack by the USSR would have to come through us anyway, giving them a free ride. When the French ambassador officially requested the removal of US troops from French soil Sec. of State Dean Rusk expressed his disgust at the French perfidity by coldly asking, "Shall we remove our troops from your cemetaries as well?".

I never thought I'd say this but SHUT UP ARI/BUSH! Perle was right. Good cop/bad cop. We all know the bad cop's right, but the good cop's got his role too.

The French are gambling that if they change their mind at the last minute, they can still portray themselves as the friend of the Arab world, yet reap the benefits of being an ally.
They are bound to be perplexed by the long memories that the Americans and we have regarding their treachery.

I've heard that it was the French scumbags that were tipping off the Iraqis about what sites were going to be inspected next. Anyone have any more info on this?
From what I understand, each country on the inspection team was given some false info. The info given to the surrender monkeys ended up in Iraqi hands.
France should be added to the list of countries that support terrorism!

We've been France's ally numerous times;
they've been ours once.

France is NOT our ally.
They tried to prevent us from going after Hitler when the actually engaged in a fire fight with our troops.
They tried to prevent us from going after Kadafi after he killed hundreds of US citizens on TWA as well as several US Servicemen in a Disco in Europe.
They are doing all they can to prevent us from stopping Saddam.
They are most definitely not our ally.
Perhaps France is even an enemy.
