Jilted Italian woman 'vandalised 60 Alfa Romeos to get back at ex'

An Italian woman has been arrested for allegedly vandalising 60 Alfa Romeo cars because they reminded her of her ex-lover.

Police say the 28-year-old woman told officers she damaged the cars because her former boyfriend drives the same make and model.

She is accused of going on a two month wrecking spree, armed with a pair of scissors and scratching the bodywork and slashing the tyres of the cars.

Officers arrested the woman after setting up surveillance on Alfa Romeos parked in the town of Rovereto, near Trento, in northern Italy.

Police say she claimed she did it because the cars reminded her of her former boyfriend, and it was her way of getting even with him.

Prosecutor Marco Gallina says the woman has been placed under house arrest, and will be charged with damaging the cars as well as attacking the officers who arrested her.

You're right about the Porsche being reliable and they are not too hard on the eyes either!

I remember hearing someone commenting on having repairs done on Ferrari's and Lamborghini's: "They will charge you $200 to find the hood release but after that their prices are outrageous."

Actually as we are daydreaming, I would like to have a Lamborghini jeep, the LM002, in my garage. Other than a plush leather-covered interior, it was a no-compromise 4WD with 500 hp of Lamborghini v-12 under the hood.

I confess.....there is no doubt that unless I am dead broke, there will always be a Land Rover in my life. There is no comparison for nimble off road use.

Fortunately, my wife agrees...she's loves them but like me hates the repair/maintenance bills. Regards.

I always wanted an old boxy Mercedes Gelandesvagon(sic)...you know the safari/rat patrol looking jobs. I didn't have a spare 125K lying about and the new MB G-Wagons are not the same animal even if somewhat cheaper.

I have a fellow here in Nashville who is a world reknown Land Rover rally enthusiast and has a world class 95 Range Rover tricked outwith 150K of state of the art offroad enhancements. He started a shop because he was sick of the dealer's overcharging like they do. His prices are about 2/3 that of the dealer on labor and about 1/2 on parts...plus he and his team really know their way around offroad Land Rover stuff. RoversAmerica.com...a little plug. I'm taking my 95 Disco in for an ABS sensor and a door lock actuator in the morning. About 650 total from him. Would be around 1100 from the dealer. Land Rover dealers make more off repairs than sales.

Back when I had old Series models overseas, you could fix all but the worst stuff yourself even if you had 2 thumbs like me.

I think that $125,000 was to street-legal 'em for the U.S. They now go for pocket change straight from the factory.

The new ones have less true off-road stuff like snorkels and air locks...etc.

They have been yuppiefied. Sort like when they transformed a long wheel base Defender or late Series model as the genesis for the Discovery....it diminishes the original genuine article.

I have an ML 320 which we are very happy with and it's decent in the snow but it's not really an offroad car by any stretch....and ugly.

My LR ....I beat it to hell and back....that is what it is for.

Then Alfa Romeo was Alfa Romeo (privately owned) Alfa's were great cars. None better. I think Fiat now owns Alfa, sad. Fiats suck.
