TV news channels report that NASA is saying that its investigators have found the remains of all seven astronauts.
A senior IDF Rabbinate official has been sent by the army to Texas to ensure that in the event the remains of Col. Ilan Ramon are found, they will be brought back to Israel for burial.
A security official told the Jerusalem Post that the senior officer will not participate in the search or the examination of the remains of any of the astronauts found strewn in the debris.
But in the event body parts found are verified to be those of Ramon will be responsible for returning them to Israel for burial.

It's so very sad, but I'm glad for the families that they will be able to bury their loved ones.

I doubt that any body parts survived the 3,000 degree heat endured in fall from space.

According to other reports, this may not actually be the case. Stay tuned.

What I heard one official say was on the order of "remains of astronauts have been found" - unspecified remains of unspecified astronauts - I doubt that they are anywhere near to identifying how many, which, and what parts of the seven bodies have been recovered.....

I hadn't heard anything about them finding remains belonging to all 7 of them, but I did hear repeated on several network as well as cable stations on TV, that human remains were found in the form of a skull and a partial torso and hipbone.

Untrue. Not all 7, just some.

I can believe that remains may not have been identified for all seven. Just some remains have been found. It will take a while to do DNA testing, etc. to identify what remains have been and will be found.
