Manned space flight is an anachronism. It impedes space exploration and exploitation. I understand your point, though I think "space exploitation" might actually involve transporting people across space. Manned space flight could serve as a preparation for that.

Thanks for the ping- I already came on and scanned this whole thread.
My heart goes out to these astronauts- may God take theiir souls and comfort their loved ones. This is more a time to mourn- we can speculate over causes later.

Apparently you folks have significantly less regard for these seven souls than I.

"The Thermal Event" detected by the Pentagon may have been the trigger for the F16s on afterburner, that I heard a little after 9:00 am EST. The F16s headed in the direction of Camp David.

Geez gal, leave SPR alone. He didn't do anything that wasn't allowed. Don't click on the DU link if you don't want to be annoyed by them.

Nobody seems to have video of the actual explosion.
At 200,000 feet the sound of the boom would have taken over 3 minutes to reach those who heard on the ground.
When they heard it and looked up it was more than 3 minutes AFTER the explosion.

Nice. It's so refreshing to have a man in there who can talk like this and you don't have to dismiss it because he's a pervert letch.

oops, msnbc said LA
still, as implausible as it seems, i suppose the dynamics might allow it, although it'd surely be 1/1,000,000,000 ...

A local TV reporter here in Houston (Ch 2) also reported that the FBI is on the scene in San Augustine. Probably just standard procedure.

Apparently you folks have significantly less regard for these seven souls than I. Typical drivel.
This is the last I will say on this:
So much regard that you would define for them what transcends a "tiny" life...
Have a nice day.

You know what?
I just HATE it when the opposition shows more class than our side does.
