Thanks for the names.
First names would be nice too.
Anybody know if the same crew came back as went up?
To: The South Park Republican
There's an entry at snopes.com about the sketchy evidence the Challenger crew might have survived the initial explosion.

I didn't hear about that. Was any attempt made to inspect them while in orbit.......
I feel there is much more to this story,,...
To: Joe Hadenuf
I will. But if I had to make an educated guess *gulp* I would say that the telescopes would have to be at Edwards AFB or at the Mt. Shasta Observatory and were tracking the shuttle as part of normal SOP. Which makes me wonder if the telescopes in the Davis Mountains here in Texas picked up anything....hmmmm.....

Are you in East Texas?
To: null and void
Would they have known it was coming or would it have happened so fast that they had no opportunity to panic? I hope so for their sakes. This is so tragic. Our nation has suffered so much grief over the past two years but for the grace of God we could not endure it.

yeah, there's a photo in the 51-L Rogers Commission report that shows the intact crew module. Also, AWST had photos of the module with umbilicals trailing behind.

At this point the least you could do is
fuggedaboudit! Most of us on this thread have some fact-finding, consoling and mourning to do. Please respect that. Thank you.

I didn't hear that part of the story. I'll put my reporter skills to work and see what I can find out.

Look....I was doing something that was SPECIFICALLY OK'd by Admin Moderator. And I was taking a BEATING for it. Both here and in private email. Then I defended myself.
You don't like that? I REALLY don't care.
And if you REALLY dont like it, WHY keep BUMPING the freaking issue????
I will NEVER understand things like this........

Palestine, TX -- which was my former residence -- is home to a NASA facility, the balloon base, where they launch weather observation balloons. The balloon base would be a natural spot for NASA to coordinate activities in that region.>>>>>>>>>>
Thanks........some seem to be *wondering* why Palestine
would be in the news.......

The President is almost at the White House now. They had to drive for security reasons.
The people need the President right now. Kind words from an honest man will help them ease their angush a little.

Thanks Ben!!!!!!!!!!
