It was one of the things that Sheppard Smith was mentioning in all the flurry of reports about what happened and who saw what. Maybe abut 30 minutes ago when I heard the first report that they might have found debris in New Mexico.

I remember reading the investigative article done by the Miami Herald for the Tropic magazine which used to go into their sunday papers. They said that some were alive, oxygen masks, switches etc were engaged, but that the survivors did die on impact with the ocean. What disturbed me the most was that once they recovered the bodies they moved them into Patrick AFB inside oil drums on a flatbed truck down A1A to aviod having to turn the bodies over to the Brevard county coroner like they did with previous fatalities at the space center.

I can't get audio on the BBC World feed. Do you know what's wrong?

The problems appears to be on their end.

If the F-16s indeed flew toward Camp David, overflying the presidential motorcade on its way from Camp David to the White House could well have been their mission.

Lord God, guide those who search the cause of this disaster. Guide those who minister to families and friends. Guide those who dream of the stars. Guide those whose eternal destiny is in Your hands. In Christ's name we pray, Amen.

I strongly suspect that security -- and not weather -- is the real reason the presidential helicopters have not been flying. Your news about F-16's being in the air strengthens my suspicion

Good points...

I saved it as a series of screen caps. I don't know how to set it up as a rotating loop, though.

"You mean technology like potentially having a ground crew convert to a certain peaceful religeon merely damage an area of the surface enough for it to fail under critical reentry strains?"

I'm not saying I don't believe it is possible, only that I don't believe it is likely.

Yes, that is EXACTLY what I remember...Thank you for reminding me...As I was going STRICTLY on memory with my earlier reports.

Any idea how much confidence we have in the accuracy of these reports?

Yes NASA was aware of a "problem" with the tiles yesterday. That was from a report from a former shuttle astronaut on MSNBC about two hours ago.

I'm with you.

This Islam hate fest is quite uncalled for. As Christians, we should be praying for our Muslim brothers, in lieu of bashing them.

Terrorists used Islam, like the KKK used Christianity. Committing evil in God's name remains evil.

Okay, I'm convinced.

Why don't we make this into a thread All About You.

It's unbelievable debris is still falling hours later, isn't it? I've heard them say several times on FNC that all the debris may not be down yet. People in the Palestine/Athens area are very lucky nobody on the ground was injured given the size of some of the pieces they've found. >>>>>>>>>>>>

MSNBC is reporting from Palestine right now......saying the
debris field starts in Palestine, with small particles
still falling..........

Fascinating document! Thanks for posting! I note from it that Presideent Johnson did not order the flag at half-mast after Apollo I. Do you recall if President Reagan gave such an order following the Challenger?

My flag is out, but it is not at half-mast. I think that's what the Columbia crew would have wanted -- pride in their sacrifice, not tears for their deaths.
