I remember reading the investigative article done by the Miami Herald for the Tropic magazine which used to go into their sunday papers. They said that some were alive, oxygen masks, switches etc were engaged, but that the survivors did die on impact with the ocean.

Yes, that is EXACTLY what I remember...Thank you for reminding me...As I was going STRICTLY on memory with my earlier reports.

Any idea how much confidence we have in the accuracy of these reports?

The Miami Herald Challenger article was by freeper dep, who posted a link to it a gazillion posts back. He was nominated for a Pulitzer prize.
