COALITION OF AZ/NM COUNTIES

ACTION ALERT

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS REQUEST TO SEND LETTERS TO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS WHICH IS DIFFERENT THAN THE PREVIOUS REQUEST

THIS ACTION WILL TAKE YOU LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. PLEASE RESPOND!!!!

Support the President's Healthy Forests Initiative by contacting

your Congressional representatives.

January 26, 2003

Advocates for President Bush' healthy forest reforms have indicated that additional support would be helpful from Congressional representatives. To assist in sending letters urging your own Congressional delegation to support these important initiatives, a simple click & send email letter is available at LandSense. All you need to do is click on the CapWiz/Landsense URL below and follow the directions:

The Healthy Forests Initiative is a broad program to reduce catastrophic wildfire on public forests by introducing forest management changes.

Many have answered the call to send letters and comments to the various federal agencies in support of these proposed reforms. If you have done so, this additional effort will ensure that your Congressional representatives also understand your beliefs.

Note: If your software does not open the hyperlink above, copy the actual URL below, paste it into your internet browser's URL field, and click enter or go:

Make sure people HAND-WRITE a letter to their Congresscritter. Form letters are largely ignored.

"Make sure people HAND-WRITE a letter to their Congresscritter. Form letters are largely ignored."

And in addition to that, most congressional staffers only scan the letters for key words in order to put them in pile A, or pile B, so don't wast your creative juices on provocative prose; they don't give a @*$&!# what you wrote.

Well, the real key is whether or not you are in their district. If not, they will ignore a hand written letter also. If you are, make sure your full address, including zip code, is on the letter.

And if you send an email - put
Constituent in zip XXXXX - please print
in the subject header. They might print it and put it in the pile marked "From Consituents" instead of "Discard".

If it's in crayon, it REALLY gets noticed! :-)

I doubt that Comrade Grijalva will pay any attention to anything that oposses total government control.

Maybe lots of paper hanging from his fax machine will annoy him.
