HALF A HOUSE, HALF A BRAIN: Why the clintons hit on Simon & Schuster
|
Just yesterday I saw her on the senate floor speaking against the high salaries of company CEO's.....
Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a New York State Senator, now comes under this fancy "Congressional Retirement and Staffing Plan," which means that even if she never gets reelected, she STILL receives her Congressional salary until she dies.
If Bill outlives her, he then inherits HER salary until HE dies. He is already getting his Presidential salary until he dies. If Hillary outlives Bill, she also gets HIS salary until she dies. Guess who pays for that? WE DO! It's common knowledge that in order for her to establish NY residency, they purchased a million dollar-plus house in upscale Chappaqua, New York. Makes sense. They are entitled to Secret Service protection for life. Still makes sense.
Here is where it becomes interesting. Their mortgage payments hover at around $10,000 per month. BUT, an extra residence HAD to be built within the acreage to house the Secret Service agents.
The Clintons charge the Federal government $10,000 monthly rent for the use of that extra residence, which is just about equal to their mortgage payment. This means that we, the taxpayers, are paying the Clintons' salary, mortgage, transportation, safety and security, as well as the salaries for their 12 man staff - and this is all perfectly legal!
When she runs for President, will you vote for her?

EXCELLENT analysis.
It seems the most expeditious solution for us "regular people" is to make certain the clintons' primary residence is the hoosegow.
I cannot think of a more satisfying way of killing two birds with one stone. |

I said that I would
hope they would be convicted. I make no guarantee thereof. If you want law, look to the courts. If you want justice, look to God.
The math works the other way, too. Trial + conviction does not always = Guilt. Look to the men on Death Row in Illinois that were subsequently proved innocent when DNA evidence technology improved. No, don't drag in the mass commutation that Gov. Ryan granted. I'm talking about the few men who were proved innocent.

I'm not defending them; I'm defending the rule of law, and the principle of "innocent until proven guilty". If it isn't presumed for the worst of us, then none of us have a claim on it.

Gather evidence and prosecute. Go to the ballot box and replace the prosecutors with ones who will prosecute. I have a hard time believing that with all the controversy and hard feelings that the Clintons raised up that there is no one with both the juristiction and the inclination to prosecute them if there is actual validity to and evidence for the charges.

If Saddam thinks that Sen. Tom Daschle is going to keep President Bush from the course that Bush has apparently decided upon, Saddam is much more ill advised than I think he is. Saddam's decisions on what Bush will do and what his reactions will be are based on his own megalomania and his conviction that he is the end of history, not on what opposition leaders in the American government think. This isn't 1970 and Iraq isn't Vietnam.
"It is easy to see, however, how Saddam might wrongly conclude that Bush could not possibly proceed in the face of such opposition."
Nope. Not easy for me to see at all. At least, not on the basis of Daschle's opinions. His words as as a whisper in a tempest.
Now, the opinions of the French, Germans, etc. are another matter, since they command armies and air space and influence others' use of the same. That's where the problem lies.
What I expect to happen after the war is that those who participated in the war effort will gain the lion's share of contracts in rebuilding and then exploiting Iraq's oil resources. Then France and Germany, being shut out, will promote that as evidence that the war was about oil all the while. A self fulfilling prophecy.

Perhaps you are Right, although I still believe the Germans and the French will play ball as soon as they realize Sodom's going down no matter what they say...LOL!! If not, they will simply be declaring their IRRELEVANCY fer all to see, IMHO!! Same with the United Nations. Same with little Tommie D'A$$hole and the rest of the anti-American RATS!!

Gather evidence and prosecute Which is just what the house managers did to Clinton. However, the Senate voted to let him skate. Clinton is just as guilty.
I would say that we have been pretty successful at voting in good people despite the fact that democrats routinely use fraud and deceit in order to make gains at the ballot box.
BTW - didn't the Bill and Hillary systematically get rid of a whole slew of federal prosecutors when he got to the White House? Some of which were working on cases involving the Clintons themselves? How convenient.

- The clintons replaced ALL the United States attorneys.
- "...he replaced all the United States attorneys in New York."
-
The New York Times -
- Oh, so Clinton only replaced the US attorneys in NY now?
- If this isn't an example of purposeful omission in reporting facts I don't know what is!

- If the clinton debacle teaches us anything, it is this: If we are to retain our democracy in this age of the electronic demagogue, we must recalibrate the constitutional balance of power.
-
Mia T, THE OTHER NIXON
-
The Common Man - by Mia T
-
- Balance is anathema to bill clinton.
- bill clinton thrives on instability.
- He gets off living on the edge.
- Disequilibrium undergirds his every scheme:
- An electorate distracted,
- a balance of power fractured.
-
- Filegate and The clinton Putsch,
- committed in tandem,
- the product of a careful criminal calculus,
- at once empowered clinton
- and disemboweled his opponents.
- clinton was now free to betray with abandon
- not only our trust,
- but the Constitution as well.
-
- As if threats of extortion and injustice were not enough,
- clinton also embarked on a campaign to quash dissent
- -- "partisan, mean-spirited!" he said --
- demonstrating once again his distaste for democracy
- and his predilection for criminal overkill.
-
- It's easy to see
- how the common man in the 1990s
- could imbibe such notions.
- And the Zeitgeist emboldened the Philanderer-King.
-
- Distrusting
- the common man's essential wisdom,
- the founding fathers appropriately distanced him
- from the decision-making process.
-
- But the founding fathers did not anticipate
- electronic media or demographic science
- which transmuted our democratic republic
- into an illusory direct democracy,
- into a de facto -- if indirect -- dictatorship.
-
- By conservative estimate,
- there is now enough fiberoptic cable
- for the MTV tyrant to hang us all
- (and to make it look like suicide).
-
-
-
-
It is natural for man to indulge in the illusions of hope.
-
We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth,
-
and listen to the song of that siren
-
till she transforms us into beasts.
-
Is this the part of wise men,
-
engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty?
-
Are we disposed to be the number of those
-
who, having eyes, see not,
-
and having ears, hear not,
-
the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation?
-
For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost,
-
I am willing to know the whole truth;
-
to know the worst, and to provide for it.
