Star of last weekend's #1 movie, "Darkness Falls", is Emma Caulfield. Emma plays Caitlin "Cat" Greene. Emma is also known for her character, "Anya Emerson", on the TV show, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".
On IMDB, found this info: "Identifies herself as a Republican, and has said she would take a break from acting to actively campaign for Elizabeth Dole, in the event that Ms. Dole runs for president again in a future election."
Personal quotes "I dont know that I want to act 15 years from now. I mean, I love the process of acting, but not the masochism. No matter how successful you get in Hollywood, you cannot rest. Your new movie doesn't open well; they're looking for the next person to replace you; it's always something. You never have true peace." love the process of acitng, but not the masochism. No matter.

That's 2 from Buffy. Sarah Michele Gellar has identified herself with being okay with guns and very big on family, lots of kids. I don't know if Sarah is a Republican but at least she's not a flaming leftist. Here's another from TV most not believe. Shannon Doherty from 90210 fame. Lots don't like her but she's GOP. I remember seeing her in 96' (I think) at the convention. She was adamant about her views.

Shannon Doherty was also quoted in- I THINK- People magazine in the past few months as saying she had a "crush" on GW! They were asking basically who people thought were sexy and she said our pres. Go Shannon!! Such good taste. hehe

Brilliant user name, Lilithunfair!!!
FYI, I am writing a chapter of a book on Hollywood and its inane politics. If you, or anyone out there, have any Janeane Garofolo-like stupid celebrity political moments (the less reported the better), please freep mail them to me. Also, I am looking for Repub celebs complaining of being treated poorly (Patricia Heaton, Bo Derek) by the compassionate Hollywood crowd, and anything macro subjects like Hollywood for Cuba, Hollywood against SUVs, etc. that can be cut into a hypocrisy salad.

Sounds like a meaty project. This is one of my favorite topics, so if I find something suitable I will definitely pass it along.

She's a Republican? WHOA! I like her even more, now. :) And the funny part is that her character Anya is an unabashed Capitalist. Hehehe.
But yeah, that's pretty cool. And it further proves that all of the hottest women on Earth are conservative. Beauty AND brains! Nice to see that an actress which I like playing a character I like on one of my favorite shows is a Republican, though. She's the Jerry Doyle (Michael Garibaldi of Babylon 5, who ran for Congress but unfortunately lost) of Buffy, apparently. Though I gotta question her judgment. Campaign for Elizabeth Dole should she run for President, again? The soonest she could run for President is '08, and Liddy Dole isn't exactly a spring chicken NOW. Nevermind 5 years from now. And nevermind that she wasn't exactly the greatest candidate the first time, around. Guess she really wants a female Republican President.
That's 2 from Buffy. Sarah Michele Gellar has identified herself with being okay with guns
To bad that doesn't translate to her character. In the 6th season, they showed Buffy several times reacting to guns as if they were diseased in some way. Touching them with 2 fingers and as little contact as possible, saying that they never do any good, blah blah blah. What's even more irritating about that is that before season 6 Buffy has NEVER had a problem with guns. Two eps from season 2 or 3 showed this clearly. In one she grabbed a gun someone dropped and tucked it into the back of her pants, no sign whatsoever of the disdain which she showed guns in season 6. The other time she was fighting with some demon and she kept telling Cordelia to pick up a nearby rifle and shoot the demon, so apparently 3rd season Buffy DID think guns were good for something.
It'd be one thing if she'd always been disdainful of guns, but her sudden disdain for them coming out of nowhere when she had previously shown no negative opinion of them whatsoever is pretty damned annoying.

Shame that she decided to leave BTVS. I have really enjoyed watching her on the small screen and I look forward to catching this movie when life permits it.
Wonder what the home video format will be in 2014?

I am sure Scott Ritter is disappointed, although she is a bit old for his tastes.

I always had the feeling that's why Shannon had a bad rep and kept getting bad press. There are other young girls who do stupid things and are kinda bitchy. But if you believed the press in those days, Shannon was the devil incarnate. It all happened after she came out of the Republican closet.

Dixie Carter played a crazed feminazi on Designing Women, but is a loyal Republican. It's all about the paycheck. I don't blame them.

For sure she looks like a solid Republican to me!

Republican, maybe, but she also stars on a show that glorifies the occult, and indoctrinates our children in the belief systems of evil.

Did she say that she was leaving
Buffy? Nothing says she can't make movies and do the show.
I think Anya is one of the funniest characters on the show what with her phobia towards bunnies and all.

You might be confusing her character's views/actions with that of the actress. Remember; Writers write the characters lines.

In case you missed it; the heroine and her Scooby gang fight evil. Evil - Bad; Kill Evil.
