In the 1994 Texas Governor’s race, his opponent Ann Richards bombarded him with what was supposed to be cutting invective, calling him “Junior”, “clueless”, and “the anaemic link at the tail end of the gilded Bush dynasty”. He called her “Governor Richards”, and won by six points.

Hey, anyone look at the calendar - its only 2003 and the dems are piling up on top of each other to declare their presidential candidacy! MOST of America could care LESS at this time who's running for election that isn't for another 21 months! Bush knows that things will turn around by next year, and since Americans have short memories, this temporary downturn will pass once we WIN the war on Iraq and get the budget tax cuts implemented and NOT just for the rich either...I could sure use the marriage tax relief and with 2 kids the child tax credit also!-
