Our sources in Washington report that the US President has set his team three provisos for launching military action in the last week of February-first week of March:
1. By February 23-25, the entire American invasion force for the first stage must be fully assembled and ready to go.
2. If the heads of the Pentagon, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Richard Myers and war commander, Gen. Tommy Franks, cannot assure the president that the military buildup is complete and everything is set to go, the offensive will be delayed for a new decision.
3. All three war chiefs must be absolutely certain that the military, logistical and intelligence resources at the disposal of Americas war effort are capable of waging and winning a short war of no more than 100 hours 6 days at the outside. Failing this guarantee, Bush will allow more time for collecting reinforcements...

Our sources in Washington report that the US President has set his team three provisos for launching military action in the last week of February-first week of March: Oh, isn't this special. Debka now claims to have double-secret sources in the Bush Administration that have the inside poop on military plans. Is this fog, or just steam?

I can't recall Debka having been anything more than a couple of adolescent Israeli kids with an overarching sense of their own importance.

Is this fog, or just steam? I'm guessing methane.

Failing this guarantee, Bush will allow more time for collecting reinforcements... This is ludricous, no intelligent commander-in-chief (which Bush certainly is) would ever request such a guarantee. Either we are ready to go to war and win as quickly as possible or we are not. If we aren't, then Bush will wait until we get more forces in to do the job. As far as waiting for reinforcements are concerned, what reinforcements is Debka talking about, reinforcements from France and Germany?

Those in the Administration who know, never talk and endanger any plan they have. When the plan is engaged they come forward.
Those who are so out of the loop and have zero contact, talk and lie and print BS like this.
My dead dog (dead for 12 years) has more insight that these BS artists do!

This is crap. or MIZINFORMATZIA. Anyone who believes Bush is going to subjugate his decision to the likes of Tommy Franks et al is numb upstairs.
IMHO, this was leaked to make some think there is more time than there is.

Sort of silly.
Air campaign doesn't require ALL resources to be in place.

That struck me as odd too...reinforcements ....activations or deployments...?
Not very many countries are actually sending in troops.

Oh boy DEBKA....such a reliable source.
Wasn't there talk a while back of banning the use of DEBKA as a source for posting? Might as well us the National Enquirer or Star for a source.
To: Mossad1967
Shoot. I actually wasted time reading the whole thing before I checked the source.
To: ScholarWarrior
The "source" shouldn't be too hard to find. Just look for a close advisor who doesn't speak english as a first language and who has never been right about anything, ever.
To: TheBattman
Oh boy DEBKA....such a reliable source. They probably got the inside scoop from NewsMax's or WND's well-placed sources....

The Nat. Enquirer has been known to do some good journalism every once in a while... FAR more reliable than Debka

Who's that group known as DEBKA..... Here's a little from their site as to who they are.....
Staff and Methods
Giora Shamis is Chief Editor and CEO; Diane Shalem, English Editor and Head of Research. Both had long records as international correspondents with mainstream media before opening DEBKAfile in the summer of 2000.
DEBKAfiles editorial desk, located in Jerusalem, Israel, is supported by half a dozen full- and part-time correspondents, contributors in world hot spots and a far-flung web of tried and proven sources.
We have also developed informal swap and links connections with reputable writers and publications on most continents.

Sec'y of State Powell seems verbally agitated lately about the Iraq situation. DEBKA is way behind the power curve, which is the result of not checking in at FR before publishing their secrets.
