I don't believe it! About the British public all liking Clinton, anyway. Maybe he and his vast left wing conspiracy friends do. On a side note: I noticed about a week ago, an article about Oxford considering B.Clinton as a chancellor. Many people among the higher-ups, didn't want him to be chancellor. They said he wouldn't be a good candidate, because of his scandalous behavior(not exact quote). They acted as if he would be an embarrassment to the college, and its student body. So I think this fellow is full of it!

They can speak for all of their fellow vlwc friends, but they don't speak for all the people of Britain. We really don't know how they all feel, because their feelings probably don't figure in polls on left-wing side of their media!

I thought we didn't need another resolution? The problem with this is that there is no rule book. They make it up as they go along.

To all the folks that say the above... I agree. And it is somewhat strange that FOXNEWS via the Rita Cosby Live program has carefully stepped all around this story, and is not even commenting on it.

I believe that Kopel has some favors that are owed her and she may have got a real scoop here, but I do wonder about her motivation and what she may be leaving out, and leaving us to assume?

"Second Resolution being drafted right now at UN...."

Not possible. The second resolution was drafted in 1991!

Maybe they meant to say the "17th resolution."

It is ridiculous, and it is 12 years and Iraq has made a fool of 16 resolutions and we are one country away from not even being able to get 9 countries of the 15 to vote for this umpty-umph resolution to use force.

The resolution says the following:

The UN understands that if it does not stand up to it's obligations the United States of America and Great Britain will withdraw it's financial support. All in favor say aye

A senior French diplomat at Davos distanced the country from last week’s German criticism of the US and said that, depending on the wording of the resolution, Paris would almost certainly support the US. But the French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin said last night that the inspectors should continue their work for “several weeks or a few months”. Germany has said that it will not go along with any resolution authorising force.

OKAY YOU FROG_EATERS, OUR FINAL OFFER TO GIVE SADDAM HIS UMPTEENTH FINAL CHANCE: We declare Saddam in material breach of 1441, make it clear that he has to tell the inspectors the truth, the whole truth and nothing but, he has to do it in 10 days - if not full complying in all respects by Feb 10, authorization and full UN support for operation "Regime Change" is automatic ... and if you dont like it, we will do it anyway!

The good thing about lying policians is they can change their positions without breaking a sweat ... should be easy for Chirac to imagine some 'new information' makes them come in line with UK/US.

Britain pushes UN to set new Iraq ultimatum

So that makes the resolution 1441 the "pen-ultimatum" ???

Germany has said that it will not go along with any resolution authorizing force.

I really believe that Bush has sent a message to Germany, not to bother rushing at the last minute to send a token force (as France usually does), after we have started the war, because we no longer consider Schroeder reliable.

Storming Norman didn't consider France reliable and put them in left field, with reliable backup ready in case they dropped their rifles again.

I have a source inside the UN that informs me that the resolution will demand that Blix get two choclate mints on his pillow in his hotel room. It seems that he has gotten used to that little custom while staying at the Ritz Carleton in NYC and feels that Iraq needs to give concrete evidence that they are ready to join in the society of civilized nations.

Some how I get the feeling, even if the UN passes a resolution to go to war, that Bush will not require our troops to wear blue UN helmuts.

The general public in England did like Clinton, he was interesting and amusing and a welcome break from their own royal scandals. It would be a different story if he was representing them, of course.
