We have the same baggy panted, backwards ball cap, styling street strollers here too.

The first time I hit the rotaries in Augusta I flipped out! Reverted to Eastern Mass. driving style, "Get the f*%# out of the way!"
We had lots of rotaries on Cape Cod. It was always fun to see some mid-western tourista get his first whirl at one.
For years the rule was that the person entering had the ROW, then they changed it to the person in the rotary had the ROW, Result: total rotary anarchy. I loved it.

We've got that law in Wisconsin, and I've made the same comment about how pedestrians are going to get killed because of the events illustrated in the article. You're not only going to get more pedestrians killed, you're going to get more rear-enders at crossings. You either have to have stoplights, stop signs, or crossing guards. Counting on racing and many times vision-obscured and/or law-ignorant motorists to stop at an unmarked crossing is inviting tragedy.

It happens frequently in CA. An arrogant gangsta move of defiance, even walking across highways and stopping a foot out of the travel zone of approaching cars without any crosswalk in sight.
This happened to me during sundown on a CA state highway recently.
I was very tempted to open my truck door as I passed by, but had the wherewithal to recognize I'd be labeled the bad guy and let it pass.
CA teenagers aren't taught about defensive driving. They've been taught more about how to file insurance claims than to drive defensively. Typical socialist ethic devoid of morality.

When I was a kid, if you walked out into traffic in brunswick you got a citation for j-walking, Now if you do it and you get hit, you hit the lottery! Reform tort laws to eliminate law suits by irresponsible suit seekers and less people will walk dangerously.

I don't know how many accidents there are in Brunswick. I would think a fair number, due to
the traffic patterns. I haven't seen an accident there, but I only go to the office to meet
with (some) clients, and that happens maybe once each two months.
