So how's about it...who has the next .15 cents, to make it an even $11.00?

I dont know if anyone else will recall this place;
The Silver Bucket, Daytona Beach.
For $4.95 - you get a pitcher and a bucket of steamed or raw oysters or clams, shucked right in front of you.
What a place. Those were the days.

100 mussles = 15,000 calories and 400 grams of fat.
Do you plan on actually digesting them?

This is so fun. I pledge 25 cents a mussel. I already donated and I can't do more. Please don't eat 5000.

fyi bump. I found the BEST seafood restaurant in town the other night! They aren't high dollar like my very favorite place, but they're owned by the same group and the fish is fresh and it's the real deal. They're open at lunch too.

I posted on the First thread about 15 minutes ago. I don't know if you have added this to your pledges yet, but here's what I said on the first thread:
100 mussels?! WOW!
Put me down for a sure .10 a mussel up to 100 mussels, with an extra $5 if you make it to 100.
Depending on financial situation in Feb. I might up my anti to .25 a mussel.
You're a brave man, dware.

You forgot
"Pulling Mussels From The Shell" by Squeeze. I forget when this came out - 1985?
They do it down on camber sands
They do it at Waikiki
Lazing about the beach all day,
At night the crickets creepy
Squinting faces at the sky
A Harold Robbins paperback
Surfers drop their boards and dry
And everybody wants a hat
But behind the Chalet
My holiday's complete
And I feel like William Tell
Maid Marian on her tiptoe feet
Pulling mussels from a shell
Pulling mussels from a shell
Shrinking in the sea so cold
Topless ladies look away
A he-man in a sudden shower
Shelters from the rain
You wish you had a motor boat
To pose around the harbour bar
And when the sun goes off to bed
You hook it up behind the car
But behind the Chalet
My holiday's complete
And I feel like William Tell
Maid Marian on her tiptoe feet
Pulling mussels from the shell
Pulling mussels from the shell
Two fat ladies window shop
Something for the mantelpiece
In for bingo all the nines
A panda for sweet little niece
Coach drivers stand about
Looking at a local map
About the boy he's gone away
Down to next door's caravan
But behind the Chalet
My holiday's complete
And I feel like William Tell
Maid Marian on her tiptoe feet
Pulling mussels from a shell
Pulling mussels from a shell
But behind the Chalet
My holiday's complete
And I feel like William Tell
Maid Marian on her tiptoe feet
Pulling mussels from a shell
Pulling mussels from a shell

I just hope you're not competing with these guys:
On July 4, 2001, 131-pound Takeru Kobayashi of Nagano, Japan, ate 50 Nathan's hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes to obliterate the previous record of 25 1/8 hot dogs and buns set by compatriot, Kazutoyo Arai of Saitama in 2000.
