A "Heads Up" Warning!
HomeSchoolers have traditionally been independent people who do not want to have their kids in the "system" any longer for whatever reason.
Neither you nor any other Homeschooling Family are required to accept "visits" by the School District.
"Yeah? Well, they don't know that!"
I have a msg that needs to get out to homeschoolers in Hot Springs, but don't know anybody on a loop here...
My husband Russell is going back to carrying his route in a week or so and stopped at the new School District office (the now renovated Jones School). He decided to go by there one day last week and make sure their mailboxes were set up right, since it's on his route.
Anyway, while he was there, he overheard one of the employees there talking with a fellow employee saying:
"....oh yeah, and get me that list of homeschoolers. It's time for my monthly visits."
Russell told her that Homeschoolers don't have to have visits from ANY school district employees.
"YEAH, WELL, THEY DON'T KNOW THAT" she said with an air of arrogance.
He also said he was glad his kid didn't go to public school anymore, and she gave him a sideways glance and asked,
"You... don't .... homeschool, do you?"
Fearing that maybe he said something he shouldn't have said. He said, "No. She goes to a private CHRISTIAN school"
I'm very upset about this and want the homeschoolers to know this!
HELP!!!
Let me hear from you

Most homeschoolers are too cussedly ornery to do so. This is both good and bad, as we well know.
Huh?! Please explain. Thank you.
