Can sombody put up a link for the Tourism office, so we can tell them how much we are not going to Delaware, as a result of the smoking ban.

One can hope that they are very sucessful and that all the militant "non-smokers", genetically challenged wackos, and phobia driven morons move to Delaware and leave the rest of the United States for us to pollute, pillage, and burn.

Sounds absolutely perfect, anything that sound VIKING like, is O'kay with me.

Or conversely, since there are more non-smokers than smokers, maybe all of the ashtray smelling, nicotine stained fingers, bad breath smokers could all move to one state. Say maybe Alaska

So your pot is acceptable, but tobacco is not....... go figure.

Repeating yourself. Is that really the best you can do?

Talking to yourself, is even more troublesome.

I am 22 years old now worrying about preventing myself from being exposed to anything that causes free radicals. (the lovely things that come from smoke.

The lovely free radicals you speak of, are not just in smoke, they are in lit candles, fried foods, matter of fact most foods, whether fried or not, so I guess you have better stop eating, oh and then there is exhaust fumes and industry.......how are we going to make the world safe for little you.

In the "contact us" section.

Notice how you have to really search around in the dining out section to find any mention of the smoking ban.

The state Senate is scqueduled to vote this afternoon on legislation aimed at easing the smoking ban a bit.

It would allow smoking in taverns, parts of the casinos and in designated areas in long-term care (ie. nursing homes) facilities.

You're right.

But it's the bloody restaurant association screaming about the taverns that is causing the biggest problems. You know, the old "level playing field" strawman.

In Delaware taverns are not permitted to be open on Sunday, restaurants are (that's why all sports bars are restaurants), you must be over 21 to either enter or work in a tavern, no such age restrictions in a restaurant.

With the casinos, no one under 21 is permitted to enter and smoking will remain prohibbitted in their restaurants.

these people are beyond ridiculous.

This will have no effect on kids - whatsoever - yet some teachers in the state have given their classes assignments to write letters opposing these changes. I'm still getting the details on that.

This "level playing field mantra" really gets me, carried to it's extreme, rents for stores downtown, should then be the same as in the burbs........ ????

My letter to Delaware:
Tell a friend, interesting logo, a friend did tell me, and Delaware is now a good place to stay away from.
If losing 23% of your prospective clientel is what you are aiming for, you are on the right track.
