‘Human shields’ to leave for Baghdad

LONDON: Some 50 people opposed to a war in Iraq plan to leave for Baghdad tomorrow in a double-decker bus to act as “human shields” in the country, organizers said Wednesday.

At a Downing Street demonstration the previous day, the protestors, mostly British and US citizens, left a list of sites where they plan to install themselves in the hope of averting a military strike on Baghdad.

“We have given Tony Blair a list of names of the people who will be going and the locations where we will be deployed,” said Ken O'Keefe, a former US Marine and Gulf War veteran, and an organizer.

“Officially, it is now known that Tony Blair has been notified that UK and US citizens are going to be in harm's way and will be killed by our own governments if they go ahead with this war, as they appear determined to do,” said O'Keefe, who renounced his US citizenship in protest of US foreign policy. – AFP

Too bad we can't lock into their cell phones or give them all GPS transmitters. Think of all the money we'd save on targeting operations...

I guess their goal is to get there by the time the conflict is over.

Looks like there is not a whole lot of support behind this lunitic.

Oh well, it will save issuing 9950 additional Darwin awards.

Where were these people when Iraq needed shielding from Saddam?

said O'Keefe, who renounced his US citizenship in protest of US foreign policy

He understands that once one renounces US citizenship, it's really really hard to get back....

The "list of sites" should go straight to the top of any US target list.

Hmmm...I guess the lesson of the Children's Crusade didn't stick.

They will be finished when their bus gets stuck under an overpass and they have to abandon it and start walking through Transylvania where a good pair of shoes will buy you a woman.

My suggestion is to start a flood of unconfirmed news reports that state the CIA (and other U.S. friendly intel agency's) has been able to infiltrate these groups with their own people. CIA intends to use these groups as cover to get people "on the ground" inside Iraq.

That should "knock the wheel off their bus"!

Let's start posting our unconfirmed reports now!
