This was an interesting quote from the former investigator, and the current predator, Ritter: "This case is going on two years old," he said. "This case has been discussed fairly openly over the past year. A person who becomes more and more of a public figure increases the chance that anyone's going to talk."

Gee I don't remember anyone discussing this in the past two years until it got outed here on Free Republic on 18 January 2003!

All right stop what you're doin'
cause I'm about to ruin
the image and the style that you're used to
I look funny
but yo I'm makin money see
$400,000 for an Iraqi movie
Now gather round
I'm the new tool in town
and the scuds laid down in the underground

I'll take up all the TV time ya got on ya shelf
so just let me introduce myself
My name is Ritter
pronounced like "litter"
young ladies oh how I like to funk thee
and all the legal aged chatters on AOL
please allow me to bump thee
I'm stepping tall y'all
and just like Humpty Dumpty
You're gonna fall when MSNBC pumps me

I like to lie
I like to beat myself funky
I'm spunky
I like my oatmeal lumpy
I'm sick with this
straight WMD fact
but sometimes I get ridiculous
I'll lie about your weapons and your licorice
hey yo underage girl
come here are ya ticklish
Yeah I called you underage
look at me I'm old
it never stopped me from playin on the bowl
I'm a freak
I like the weapons with the boom
I once got busy in a Burger King bathroom
I'm crazy
allow me to amaze thee
they say I'm ugly but it just don't phase me
I'm still gettin' in my own pants
and I even got my own dance

The Ritter dance
here's your chance
to do the hump
To Yourself

Seems that this wasn't such secret news to the locals, despite insinuations that someone must have "leaked" this story.

When you think about it, who in the know is not going to talk about it, especially with concerns about other children, coupled with the attention given to him in the media?

I think the story was only "reportable" by local standards when coupled with the scandal of why the case was treated secretly in the first place - which resulted in the firing of an assistant DA. There was also a doctor arrested for crack cocaine treated whose case was treated secretly which raised local concerns.

"This case has been discussed fairly openly over the past year. "
Wasn't he just a few days ago claiming it wasn't him?

Sounds as if there was no need for the judge to leak this story. Does Catherine Crier owe somebody an apology?
