I checked to see if that was the actual title - they wrote it. Nice reporting!

"Because of what happened here . . . Im not on that airplane," he said. He's just mad cause Saddam promised him girls this trip to go along with the money.

where he planned to advise Iraqi officials on ways to avoid a conflict with the United States. None dare call it treason.

What struck me was that Ritter made a 180-degree turn on this issue--without having been back to Iraq to back up his claims! My question is--what did the Iraqis have on him that made him change his mind? Or was it that $400,000 'gift' from an Iraqi businessman that nudged him into the pro-Iraq column?
What a head-scratcher!

Darn. I was hoping he would go. I mean, if it is that important, he would, right? What he didn't say, was that even Iraq doesn't want anything to do with him now and told him to stay home. That's pretty sad when even a murderer like Hussein wants no part of you.
Or, unless he is barred from leaving because of a pending investigation into why he is Saddam's buddy.

If his "peace" message were that honest, then anyone could tell it.
If he were on the "other side" of the issue and supporting military action against Iraq then he might be in posession of special information he's seen regarding WMD.
He supposedly turned on the issue because he felt he was being used to spy on Iraq. That does nothing to support the position that they don't have WMD.

Why doesn't he just go on to Iraq anyway? He could lead the human shields in a Jerk-off for Peace. At the Baghdad Burger King. Think of the sybolism.

"Because of what happened here . . . Im not on that airplane," he said.Bllsht. No one stopped him from getting on the plane to SaddamLand. Where Saddam just may be rewarding him with access to teeny boppers. Harams are big in Araby.

The New York Post reports: "
[T]he charge...stemmed from an attempt to lure a 16-year- old he met on the Internet to a Burger King so she could watch him masturbate"
And in other news of the day...
AP, January 23, 2003 -- Anonymous sources close to Scott Ritter have reported today that, despite their many weeks of intense, and sometimes acrimonious marriage counseling, Scott Ritter and his right hand are now considering a trial separation. Privately, these sources tell us that Scott has been complaining for months now that his hand has been faking orgasm. Mean while, close friends of Scott's hand have confided the hand's tearful explanation, "What do you expect? He makes me wear a latex glove. I'm his hand, for crying out loud, not some cheap floozy!"
Reached for comment, Scott Ritter charged, "This story was intentionally leaked to sabotage my planned peace mission to Iraq. Whose going to want to shake hands with me now?"
Who, indeed, Scotty!

Why would Ritter need to advise Iraq on how to avoid war? They have already been told how: come clean on the WMD's. Which they have completely ignored.
