Average Protestors: Total Kook Wackos

On Monday, I rolled audio from that big anti-American protest in DC. “Anti-American protest? I didn’t hear about that” Maybe that’s because the press wrongly identified the protestors as “anti-war.” That's a misnomer, since no one wants war. No, these people are anti-American, anti-capitalism, anti-freedom and pro-dictatorship. They're retreads, or young people acting out an era – the 60s – that they missed.

I told you in Hour One on Monday that you could find signs and issues at this protest from the pro-choice crowd or the animal rights crowd. Sure enough, by Hour Two I had a Washington Post story in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers documenting signs on Roe v. Wade, legalizing pot, etc. Yet the mainstream press looks at these protests as nostalgia, and doesn't bring us an accurate picture of who attended the Bash America 2003 Festival.

Doing the job the mainstream press used to do at this rally: Dan Flynn of National Review. You can hear me read quotes from this great piece, where he recounts mingling with the protestors, in the audio link below. You had the usual comparisons of Bush to Hitler, and more creative pap like one man's insistence that Bush let 9/11 happen so he could “build a worldwide planetary death machine” in space. Some handed out pamphlets on the “right” of North Korea to have nukes. A phrase the mindless frequently mouthed compared 9/11 to breaking a fingernail. Read this article and listen to the audio. You need to know the truth, and laugh at these relics. They're more irrelevant today than ever.

The only liberty this particular "civil liberties" group champions is abortion on demand. Beyond that, the "pro-dictatorship" tag fits, although they do not realize that is the logical conclusion of their belief system.

Check out the history of the groups behind last weekend's VLWC: What Legacy from the Radical Internationalism of 1968?

These guys are not promoting peace and tolerance.

I am inclined to agree. A few years ago, I was exasperated by Clinton's policy of making war on Yugoslavia (Serbia) over Kosolvo. So I joined a demonstation, a march from the Lincoln Memorial to the Pentagon. I would say that a great many of the crowd were folks like me, who thought that Clinton's policy of intervening in what was essentially a Serbian internal affair was unwise and a bad precident. Another large contingent were Serbian-Americans who thought Clinton had chosen the wrong side. But the bulk of the crowd, and almost all of the speakers, were the same old leftist, anti-American, professional agitators who had led the VietNam War protests. I mean the same people, not just the same types! Half the speeches had nothing to do with Kosolvo, but were the same old tripe that got trotted out at every left wing protest.

These people never learn. They live in a fantasy world, where slogans substitute for reason, and guilt-by-association for logic. They need to be exposed for what they are, confronted for what they are, and dealt with as what they are, constantly, vigorously, and if need be, forcefully.

What did he "reach" for? I've read a number of comments by liberals on places like DU who were upset at the communist connections of the rally. Naturally many of the typically extremely leftist posters on that forum thought that any allies of whatever political affiliation were perfectly alright with them. Even David Corn of that well-known conservative publication The Nation was upset with the leftist tilt of the rally. As was prominent anti-war activist Justin Raimondo of previous anti-war rallies. Face the facts: commies and other strange anti-American leftist beings run those rallies.
