ABC News will have a new poll at 6:30 PM EST tonight testing the tax cut, the war, and a horse race of the current 2004 Presdiential field.
On the Presidential level, still picking apart the results of the past weekends results in Iowa, all six Dem Cadidates will speak tonight at the Pro-Choice America's Dinner at the Omni Shoreham hotel. Receptions start at 6PM, events begin at 7.
Division of pro choice activists is key right up there with labor and African Americans. The echo-chamber effect for anyone who does well tonight or poorly will be huge.
Watch on C-SPAN how the candiates use their 4 minute speaking time to maximum effect. Watch to see if the time limit is strictly enforced. Watch to see who tries to make news, and how hard they go after the President. Watch to see who brings and/or makes reference to their spouse.
Dick Gephardt is the only one about whom there is some pre event buzz that he plans to make news.
Most of the speculation has centered on the possibility that he 'will apologize' for his previously pro-life position, but Time Magazine's Joseph Klein zings 'at the Pro-choice cattle show, the only profile in courage will be Gephardt's refusal to endorse late term abortions.'

It really shows the delusional state of the Dem party that a formerly key Dem leader believes that he can run for the WH with a platform of apologizing for lowering taxes and saving babies' lives.....the mind boggles..

>>Do you know who is going to run for his district?<<
My guess would be Catherine Enz as the Republican canidate (again) and I wouldn't be surprised if the Dems push Carnahans son who is a State Rep. somewhere in the 3rd district.
Cardinal4, I think we've discussed the demographics of this district before. This link breaks it down a little more.

I still thinks the Dem. is still a favorite in this district. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Thats right, we did. Akin is the rep.up here I believe. I guess I will be supporting Enz. Doesnt Akin hail from Florissant? Or maybe it was Hazelwood?

He WAS the rep. up here until Gephardts re-districting plan put us in Lacy Clays 1st District. Akin is 100 times better than Clay.
Check this link out to see the new districts.

BTW Akin is from somewhere out in West county

Yep. And the idiots inn the audience were applauding to the repeal of tax cuts! Imbeciles. You know, there is nothing on the books that says these people can't pay more of their income to the government if they want to. Its called something like "voluntary contributions to pay the public debt", or some such thing. You just make out your check to Uncle Sam and send it to the treasury. They'll take your money. The "more taxes" crowd can lead the way and pay more money in taxes than the current law says they owe.
Funny thing, though. I gots a feeling that none of them do, because they don't really want to pay more. They want everyone else to pay more.
