As a veteran I am SICK AND TIRED of all these whinny veterans getting the spot light when it comes to their punney views.
I am one veteran that supports OUR President on his stance against so-damninINSANE (noitice i didn't say anything about Iraq).
I would like someone out there in fly-over country who knows how to do a website that shows veteran's support of Bush. God knows that there are enough against him. [/rant]
Again, some of these guys are phonies. Others are merely sock-puppets of the left. And a few others, sadly, seem to suffer the Stockholm Syndrome. Lastly, even more sadly, some have adopted the mentality and persona of our nations enemies...
Found these in a search, thought they might be useful in this thread:
I signed the national "I SUPPORT THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF" petition to support our President's actions in the war against terror and want you do the same. Click below to stand with our Commander In Chief: CLICK HERE TO SIGN PETITION Jane Fonda, Oliver Stone, West Wing's Martin Sheen, Gloria Steinem, Rev. Al Sharpton and others have taken part in a national effort to "Resist the war and repression that has been loosed on the world by the Bush Administration. It is unjust, immoral and illegitimate." The organization is calling itself NION (Not In Our Name), and already more than 200,000 have joined the celebrity elite in this brutal attempt to undermine our President's policies. Using the Internet, and major media outlets, they are openly and viciously attacking President Bush by stating that their goal is to "resist the policies and overall political direction that have emerged since September 11, 2001." As Americans who love our God, and country, this is outrageous! * * * * A CALL TO ACTION! * * * * We are tired of the celebrity elite stealing away our voice on key issues that affect our nation by proclaiming: NOW IT'S TIME FOR THE LIBERTY-LOVING CITIZENS OF OUR GREAT NATION TO RISE UP AND SUPPORT OUR PRESIDENT IN THE FACE OF THESE DAMAGING ASSAULTS BY CLICKING BELOW: CLICK HERE TO SIGN PETITION Through this national effort, Grassfire.net wants to deliver more than 100,000 signed petitions as quickly as possible to the White House, key leaders in Congress, and to the NION advisory board. Here's how YOU can help ... * * * ACTION ITEM #1 --SIGN THE PETITION We are calling on every American to sign our national "I SUPPORT THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF" petition. Click below to sign: CLICK HERE TO SIGN PETITION And after signing, we are asking you to forward this message to 20-30 of your freedom-loving friends--urging them to stand with the President and against the liberal-minded message of Jane Fonda, Oliver Stone and others by signing the petition as well! Thank you for lending your voice in the growing chorus of support for our Commander In Chief! Grassfire.net Real Impact. Read Feedback. Real Results. P.S. Just one year ago, political leaders from both sides of the aisle as well as the Hollywood elite rallied behind our President. Now, just one year later, the radical left is undermining the President while our servicemen and women are defending our way of life! To counter NION's efforts, we are asking you to help us double, even triple their efforts as soon as possible. Please join the thousands of others who are urging Congress to support the Commander In Chief, today! + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + CLICK BELOW TO SIGN THE |

Dear American soldierDear American soldier,
You don't know me, but I know who you are and I will not forget.
You are deploying from Fort Carson and Fort Hood and Fort Bliss and Fort Stewart. You hail from Middletown and Middleboro and Greenville and Redding and Thousand Oaks and Maple Tree. You are white, black, brown, and yellow-but always Americans first.
You are with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team and the 10th Combat Support Hospital and the 571st Air Ambulance Medical Evacuation Company. You are with the 1st Cavalry Division and the 3rd Infantry Division and the "Iron Horse" 4th Infantry Division. You are Black Knights with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment. You are engineers, drivers and medics in the 13th Corps Support Command.
Your motto is "We Will," "Steadfast and Loyal," "Swift and Deadly," "Always Prepared," "First to Fight," and "No Task Too Tough."
You will be joined overseas by thousands of sailors and Marines on the USS Boxer and USS Bonhomme Richard and USS Cleveland and USS Dubuque and USS Anchorage and USS Comstock and USS Pearl Harbor. You will get support in the Gulf from an airborne infantry brigade, a squadron of F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighters, and two squadrons of F-16CJ radar-jamming fighters.
You have friends on the USS Constellation in the Persian Gulf, and the USS Harry S Truman in the Mediterranean Sea, and the carrier USS Abraham Lincoln stationed at Perth, Australia, and the USNS Yano en route to the Red Sea, and the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson on its way to a training mission in the Pacific.
You have classmates and colleagues and cousins who died at the Pentagon and in the Twin Towers on September 11. You have buddies who took bullets over the past year in Afghanistan and Kuwait and the Philippines during Operation Enduring Freedom. You have uncles and brothers and fathers and grandfathers who sacrificed their lives in past wars.
Their deaths haunt you. Their heroism inspires you. Their footsteps beckon and you cannot resist.
You have wives who are tough as nails and husbands who are enormously proud. You have toddlers who know the colors of the American flag and grade-schoolers who have memorized Army verses like these:
The hardest job, the dirtiest job
As you pack your green Army duffel bags, press your desert camouflage fatigues, polish your boots and kiss your families goodbye, please take these words with you:
Thank you. Thank you for answering the call to arms. Thank you for being fit and young and brave and willing. Thank you for loving freedom enough to put your own life on the line to defend it.
Pay no attention to Sean Penn and Sheryl Crow and Baghdad Babs. Tune out the half-naked loonies and Flower Power leftovers. Stand tall. Fight hard. And know that there are legions of Americans who are boundlessly grateful for what you have volunteered to do.
We know who you are. We will not forget. And we will pray every day for your safe return. Hoo-ah!
