President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush left the White House this morning to go to Landover, Maryland, where the President, joined by Condoleezza Rice, spoke to the congregation of First Baptist Church of Glenarden on the anniversary honoring slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. He was welcomed warmly and given a standing ovation by the congregation, and spoke from his heart of the prejudice still holding people back, and the need for healing the hurt and hopelessness that still exist . On Sunday, the President announced his proposal to increase spending to historically black and Hispanic colleges, and universities by 5%. Enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

My prayers shall continue for you, rintense.
It is my hope that you have a loved one who will take care of you after you get home.
Thank you for "The Dose" and all your time and talent that it takes to 'produce'. It is a blessing to so many ... especially to me.

Great comments from our President today, and the GoodHousekeeping article with First Lady was pretty good.
May our First couple continue to be led and kept by the Almighty, as HE brings this American ship back on track.

Okay, I'm watching the C-SPAN program with Mrs. Bush, and my roommate is sort of watching, and she looked at me and said "who is that?" She didn't even know who our First Lady is. I could do my own "JaY walking" in my room. Sometimes I am just apalled by the lack of current event knowledge that some people have.

btw, welcome to the Dose! (Are you new, or have I just missed you?) Oh I've been here forever but don't write. Just usually look at the pictures and just comment on occasion.

I can't believe your roomate didn't know who our Laura was!!! Hope you didn't hurt yourself hitting the floor.
Rintense, sorry about the mix-up today. That stinks, after psyching yourself up for the surgery. I'll keep you in my prayers for Wednesday.
That picture of Laura, when everyone is keyed into her, is one of the lovliest expressions I have ever seen of her. She is just so SERENE.
To: rintense
please carry them over to Wednesday! Your wish is my command, Princess!

Thanks for the link. I am sure that someone who has undergone such a trauma could be convinced that she is doing the right thing in becming the posterwoman against malpractice caps. To have it happen because of carelessness is devastating and going public will help her turn her pain into a 'cause.'
You are right, she is being used all over again.
BTW, the proposed cap is only on 'pain and suffering' which is in addition to the lost wages, medical needs and other economic losses.

Sure, my dear!
I am finally (or was to have had) going to have surgery on my right shoulder. It's been messed up for 18 months and the doctor finally decided to do surgery. Of course, it took him 18 months to decide to do it- let's hope it doesn't take him that long to find the stupid instrument he needs!
