Hey Alexander" If you really want to help your constituents, switch to the Republican Party - the party that gets things done and puts people ahead of the party.

Well, it depends. If Alexander is black, Pelosi wants him to line up with the other step-n-fetchits, on the Congressional Black Caucus. There, he can blather on command about the race baiting stuff that the white dems (remember Kleagle Byrd?) allow him to talk about.

In most other regards, the dems, after ALL these years, still don't like blacks and beyond lip service, don't want them where they can do anything.

After all, if a black congressman wants to get along, he better ...

Pelosi's "family," when it "bossed" Baltimore, wasn't the touchy/feely group it is today. And, in fact, I'd like to see a report of the BAL lynchings while Pelosi's relative were in charge.

If Alexander is white, then before the dems give him anything responsible to do, they want to first make sure that he is an accomplished liar.

If Alexander is as conservative as claimed, now's the time to switch parties.

Alexander depended heavily on the support of Senators Breaux and Landrieu as well as Congressman and presidential candidate Dick Gephardt. He is not now and is unlikely ever to be a candidate for a switch in parties. He is from an old-line Jackson Parish Democrat family known for its faith in "the people."

If he doesn't receive a worthwhile assignment, then the voters of his district will just have to elect someone in a party that understands the district.

LA voters usually go incumbent regardless of party, particularly if the incumbent is Democrat. They happily reelected AR Bill in 1996.
