Unfortunately, going to the U.N. also bought us time to see one hell of an anti-war movement around the world. This is the downside that I see. Not that it will matter in the end, however. I believe that the protesters should be harping on saddam and asking him why he continues to lie to the world rather than scoffing at GWB's effort to ameliorate the Iraq problem once and for all. It must be that the protestors do not want war at any cost for any reason, which is an unrealistic -- if admirable -- want.

Again, I disagree. I am on a college campus, and in fact, what this long delay MIGHT have done is to totally negate any serious protest. For months they have been trying to mobilize, but could NOT against the UN---their "love" child. So by waiting and dragging it out, he has to some degree diluted it so much that we will not see significant protests. I don't consider these piddly little things going on now as serious.

Nonsense. If Slick Willie (or another Rat) were the Prez there would hardly be a protester out there. Do you remember any major demonstrations during x42's Operation Desert Fox or Balkans War? There weren't any. ...And thousands of innocent Serbs and Iraqi civilians died in those conflicts.

These protesters have don't have a principled bone in their bodies. They're socialist Rats, pure and simple.

No. They're doing it for political power. If they truely were for peace in the world, they'd have protested the Clinton troop deployments and bombings - and they weren't even for national security!
Clinton reign of terror bombings =OK.
Bush national security =bad.
If they were honestly for peace, they'd be for peace no matter who was in the Whitehouse, right?

The protesters don't really care about the war IMHO. Their agenda is really anti-Bush, (Pubbies) therefore the time lag is just what they want to give them time to discredit the President.
