Man accused in fatal beating of woman
Police: Suspect dumped body after robbery bid in doughnut delivery

ROWLETT - Police arrested an 18-year-old man Friday in the beating death of a woman who was found in a trash can across the alley from his home.
Authorities said they would charge Anthony D. Doyle with capital murder in the case, Rowlett's first homicide since 1999. The victim was Hyun Mi Cho, 37, an employee of nearby Chaha Donuts.
Rowlett police Sgt. Dean Poos said the incident appeared to stem from a robbery gone bad, although he added, "I wouldn't think that someone delivering doughnuts would carry much money."
Ms. Cho disappeared Thursday morning while making a delivery to Mr. Doyle's house. The doughnut shop was closed by the time police released Ms. Cho's identity Friday afternoon, and co-workers couldn't be reached for comment.
Sgt. Poos said police arrested Mr. Doyle on Friday at a house in Dallas on a probation violation. Mr. Doyle then told investigators that he had ordered doughnuts, intending to rob the delivery person, Sgt. Poos said. He said Mr. Doyle lured Ms. Cho into his house in the 3400 block of Jones Street, and she apparently resisted.
"The entryway of the house had blood on it," Sgt. Poos said, "and there appeared to be some attempt at a cleanup."
Mr. Doyle then placed Ms. Cho in a large trash container in the 3400 block of Colonial Drive, across the alley and one house over, Sgt. Poos said.
A woman living at the house on Colonial found the body Thursday afternoon and called police.
Police said they did not touch the trash bin or pull the body out when they arrived and at first thought the victim was a Hispanic man. They determined the victim's identity only after the outside of the container was searched for evidence, and the body was removed hours later.
In the 1999 homicide, Michael Hierro was shot and killed while standing in his driveway. Clinton Shelton, husband of Dallas lawyer Catherine Shelton, was sentenced to life in prison for that attack.
