Families of Sniper Shooting Victims To Sue Rifle Maker
Thu Jan 16, 8:13 AM
() - The families of two sniper shooting victims will file a lawsuit Thursday against the maker of the rifle used in the attacks, and the shop where the gun was sold or stolen.
The suit is brought on by the families of James "Sonny" Buchanan and Conrad Johnson.
It alleges that Bushmaster firearms and Bull's Eye Shooter Supply of Tacoma, Washington, showed "gross negligence" that "caused injuries and death."
The owners of the store, Brian Borgelt and Charles Carr and sniper suspects John Allen Muhammad and John Lee Malvo are also named as defendants.
The families are seeking unspecified damages.
The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is representing the families, who are seeking unspecified damages.
Bushmaster officials say they did nothing wrong by selling the gun.
The owners of the gun shop did not comment.

Here we go!!! Liberals/lawyers blame the rifle for the sniper shootings! These people make me sick. Try to turn what two very evil Musilms do (the sniper shootings) into a reason to take away guns. And this time, rifles.
Another get rich quick schemne at the expense of dead sniper victims and honest companies. Ugh!!!

How long before the victims of a hit & run accident sue the car or truck manufacturer? Someone has got to stop this stupid SH-T.........
Right now 97% of the lawyers make it hard for the rest of their profession.

Geez, they probably could have made more money going after the car manufacturer instead. I mean, they did all of the shooting from inside of a car and a car was used to get them from one location to another!
Yep, another get rich scheme by the blood sucking lawyers!

What next? It's the bullets stupid?
This is just the Brady's way of getting more people to donate to their "charity". Yea, "charity"! Ain't that a laugh? It's always been about money with Sarah Brady.

Forget the gun manufacturers and go right to the source! Sue those damnable mining companies that extracted the metal that made the guns!

Bushmaster is not culpable at all; this is a publicity stunt to get a media frenzy about the federal AW ban which is set to sunset in late 2004. This is about making that unconstitutional law permanent.

Link to
Bushmaster website, noting its the #1 supplier of AR-15 style weapons.

I think I'll buy a Bushmaster shortly just to support them.

Hmmmm, junk lawsuits. Didn't President Bush just give a speech about that this morning (albeit regarding medical suits)?

If blame is to be assigned in this manner, I would emphatically state that the #1 party to be sued here would be the US Government. They taught Malvo all about firearms, taught him how to shoot them to kill people in the most efficient way possible, taught him tactics, and even paid him to learn these skills.

The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is representing the families, who are seeking unspecified damages. The Brady Center to Facilitate Rape has no interest in car or truck manufacturers. It's sole purpose is to completely disarm YOU. Everything they do is to further that cause, nothing they do furthers any other cause.

(Sarah Brady would rather see a woman raped and strangled with her own pantyhose than holding a gun.)

As much as we have sympathy for the families of the victims, these types of suits must be stopped. Can the gun maker counter sue for court costs and damages because the suit is frivolous?

Isn't it wonderful that criminals can profit at both ends of the process?
What a country!
