(New Haven-WTNH, Jan. 15, 2003 4:50 PM) _Dozens of protestors came out against a possible war with Iraq.
Yale students staged a "die-in" Wednesday by laying down on sidewalks like dead bodies. Others dressed in black and acted like mourners.
The Yale coalition for peace wanted to call attention to the more than a million Iraqi's who died in the first Gulf War, US enforced sanctions and to warn of future civilian casualties.
Ben Healey, First Ward Alderman states "the Bush Administration is prioritizing this war in Iraq and risking the lives of hundreds of thousand of Americans not to mention Iraqi civilians and the same. We have huge problems here at home that we need addressing."
The group claims the force of layoffs at the state and city level are the direct result of the administration's priority for war.

They could've gone a few miles to the south and had a good "die in" on 9-11-01. That damn hindsight gets ya every time.

What would really make news is a report that someone from Yale joined the military.

Throw them out of Yale, and let students in who will actually get some benefit out of their expensive education.

"The Yale coalition for peace wanted to call attention to the more than a million Iraqi's who died in the first Gulf War, US enforced sanctions and to warn of future civilian casualties" First off, Sanctions were ordered by the UN after they told us killing Saddam would "de-stablize" the area, not US. Second, the deal was oil for food, which should mean that Iraqis would be fattening themselves up. Third, both before and after the sanctions, Saddam has been starving his own people while building up his military just like N Korea. Starvation, by Saddam is where most of the million Iraqis died.
I suppose the US is responsible for all those Jews being gased in Germany.
