True, but it's an entirely seperate issue. One is a great argument against the other. Legal domestic production would mean zero profit for thugs around the globe.

And America would have a comparitive advantage in producing hemp( good soil and all). Maybe we could get the trade deficit wackos to calm down.

Not entirely. What about the countries where drugs are still illegal? What about the teenage drug user market? What about really bad drugs, like PCP?

Unless you made all drugs legal for all people, there'd be some sort of market for illegal drugs.
