It's with great sadness I let you all know that we lost a FReeper last night. MaineRebel, husband of monthly FReeper donor SheLion was felled by a massive heart attack at about 10pm last night.

Words really have no meaning at a time like this, so I will just say a prayer to comfort this family and their broken hearts.

15Jan03 0000- 0100 Dream about a race.

The race was being conducted in a swimming pool type course, similar to a log ride at an amusement park, a pool with running water and all the members had to swim the course with the objective of taking along with us an object which we made but it had to make the journey in the rapids with us as well. The course had various stages and twists and turns, some easy swimming, others a tumultuous rapids though tubes and under walkways. In many cases the objects we took had to survive the course on their own although we had to keep possession of them throughout the course. Such were the rules.

Each travail of the course was conducted with a different object and there were many repetitions. Each travail occurred about every 3 weeks. The first pass we were told to make a cross. So I made a wooden cross out of 1"x6" and it was stained dark and I and it went in the waters and we both made the course intact OK.

The second object was a wooden sword, again, later I went throughout the course with the sword and although separated from time to time we both made the course.

The third item looked like red fish eggs or beads,,, somewhat sticky, there were twenty-seven of them I made, everybody seemed to make as many as they could, some many, others didn't pay much attention. I threw these into the course and traveled with them although I was on top the course on a walkway and attempting to follow them for a while and then reentered the course, but even though I knew the beads were making it through the course intact, I lost contact with them and saw them no more even though I searched in vain,

At the end of the course after I got out wet and tired, I looked again for the beads. Instead, I found myself in a upper balcony looking on to a sanctuary. Our objects had been collected and assembled for our retrieval in the balcony or where people had placed them before the awards ceremony upon which each person would present themselves and their objects of work and endurance to be scored. My cross and sword were intact and looked much better condition than most others although perhaps not the best they could have been, but my beads were missing, although I knew I had made them and they made the journey, I wouldn't receive the award based upon them.

I looked around for them and saw how others had made their objects. Some had shattered pieces of their crosses made from twigs or stakes, others had swords made from wooden slats or daggers remaining. Some who had made theirs of steel had lost theirs during the course or they never made the journey. Both my sword and cross were there and I felt as though my effort was going to be well rewarded with respect to those. Others had strung their beads into a necklace like rosary beads, which I didn't know we could do, but it seemed fruitful when compared to mine, which I no longer had or could find.

Upon momentary reflection it seems this dream relates to
1) Our understanding and reception of the cross or bearing our own burden. Some received the salvation and retained it, others lost theirs by not regarding it much..
2) The sword of God or His word, I retained mine, through metabolization of Bible doctrine in the soul and manifestation of that doctrine in the spirit, now awaiting reward.
3) The beads perhaps were seeds of those who might be saved, perhaps I laid the seeds for 27 other souls, and I believe they endured trials, I no longer had possession of them and might not be rewarded for my efforts in making them but perhaps another might be able to make them fruitful with little to no effort but by happenstance and some attention to grasp onto them..
4) The awards ceremony being the marriage with the lamb and our rewards based upon our fruits.

It seems as though many other iterations of the race remain, but the race was concluded before we realized it was to cease and then we were assembled in the hall to collect our objects or items we had individually made in preparation for the awards.

I still do not understand the meaning of the 27 beads or eggs.

God Bless, perhaps SheLion , your race continues while he is searching and awaiting to collect his awards. I pray for your success in that race and that those things measured and recognized in the ceremony or those same things you make and keep with yourself even after the race remain with you, even if just a little bit, and the more, that much more celebrant.

Let's continue to build those awards while we can as he is now in line awaiting the ceremony.

Your dream? Very interesting.

"3) The beads perhaps were seeds of those who might be saved, perhaps I laid the seeds for 27 other souls, and I believe they endured trials, I no longer had possession of them and might not be rewarded for my efforts in making them but perhaps another might be able to make them fruitful with little to no effort but by happenstance and some attention to grasp onto them.."

I believe one is ultimately judged based upon their faithfulness in that which they have been entrusted and that faithfulness attributes to a harvest of souls - whether directly or indirectly. Remember, we're told some may plant and others may reap the harvest, but it is God who gives the increase. That increase is made manifest through the help of both the sower and reaper, not that they should receive glory, but that God should be praised. (1st Corinthians Ch. 3) ....
