Hi, I just purchased Mike Savage's new book The Savage Nation. I was wonder what you all have thought of this book if you have read it. I bought it at Borders and there was a note scrawled on a piece of paper "Broaden your horizons. Instead of reading what you already belive [sic] read what you don`t" I wonder if this was a jab at conservatives, mike savage or what? Was I suppose to read the anti-american and bush hating books that were around this one?

Yes, it seems it was a slam at you (or whoever else picked up that book) for being a conservative and *daring* to read a book by an intelligent conservative with a strong and provocative message.
It was lame, much like the left is fairly lame.

I bought one of Rush's book years ago.
It was on sale. The sale sticker was a small round sticker that just fit over rush's face on the front of the book.
Every one of those books on sale had a sticker placed over Rush's face by the store clerk.
It is all part of the intolerance of the left. They would be burning the books if they were given the chance.

I doubt that the writer of the note took his own advice and read The Savage Nation. He probably just left the note while picking up another Michael Moore book.

You think more highly of the notewriter than I do. My guess is that he or she was just lost on the way to the coloring books.

true. This was the only copy of the book too. however they did have Ann Coulter's 2 books there the newest facing front so you can see her picture. I was in a dilemma I wanted both Ann's books and Micheal's.

My Barnes and Noble (NYC) Experience:I today bought five of his books today as gifts for fence-sitting "moderate" friends, in an effort at nudging them off. Michael pursuades with both white-hot rhetoric and raw hilarity, and I am really looking forward to discussing their reactions.
But the Barnes and Noble people didn't think so. The (black) woman I asked told me that they "definitely" did not have the book in stock. I looked around and found it. It took a while. Someone had moved all the copies slightly out-of-section, and had turned them around so all you could see was the paper. Thankfully, one copy was on the ground nearby, clueing me in. Then the (white, pierced) girl at the counter actually asked me "isn't he a racist?" Dumbfounded, I actually laughed out loud. Finally I suggested she just read it.
I just sent off letters to the store manager, and headquarters of B&N complaining about my experience (naming the black woman who deceived me), as well as e-mails to Mike. All this just to buy a few books. Incredible.

Not to sound paranoid but I'll bet most of the female or male clerks in these stores are liberal. I chuckle inwardly somewhat at the looks I get from these clerks whenever I buy a conservative-themed volume. Wonder what they're thinking. I bought a Camille Paglia (who isn't even a conservative) book in a Madison, Wisconsin used bookstore one time. The clerk admitted that not many of his customers bought her books. Two women who were yakking behind me stopped talking and glared at me as I walked out. Why do I feel like a Martian whenever I walk into these lib bookstores?

ok who is camille paglia? someone mentioned they emailed mike savage......i have tried very hard to find his email address. he has 5 books? what are they? I know he has other books dealing with foods or dieting but what are the names of his political books?

Ah, the bookstore liberal -- a close relative of the record-store liberal and the coffee-shop liberal, but more intellectual and with a tendency towards introversion.
Someone ought to publish a Liberal Spotter's Guide.

Definitely the work of the "People's Mind-Liberation Army".
At least you can still buy these books. Most public libraries have never heard of best-selling conservative authors, while they do have complete selections by Al Franken, etc.

I got the book for Christmas and had it finished within a few days, it was tough to put down. You'll enjoy the chapter on picking up liberal women in bookstores, it'll fit right in with your bookstore experience. In my opinion, the written note on your copy was a shot at conservatives. They'd much rather prefer you read Heather Has Two Mommies.

Camille Paglia is a lesbian pro-American radical anti-radical feminist feminist if you can follow me. She made news in the early nineties by skewering all the big-name anti-male anti-American hags in the feminist establishment like Steinem and Friedan. She is not a real conservative and has some really controversial views on many things like sex which she feels we need a lot more of. But she is someone who conservatives can debate with and occasionally agree on many issues.

I read Ann's book - Slander - awesome! Very, very revealing how the media walks in lock-step to misreport the truth. Once you read her book - you can see (and hear) the bias in reporting even more clearly.

"Broaden your horizons. Instead of reading what you already belive [sic] read what you don`t" This is a routine challenge from leftists who cannot comprehend that a sensate, cognizant human can, through years of constant critical thought, come to conclusions that are directly contrary to most every value the leftist holds dear.

I wanted both Ann's books and Micheal'sI really like Michael Savage but Ann's book was much better, IMO. I thought he used to many references to people that unless you listened to his show you probably would not get. Like calling John Walker "Rat Boy"

My Borders Experience
I went to a local, independent bookstore today. I know these freaks to be very liberal and so I did not expect to see Michael's book anywhere. I didn't.
Later I went to Borders. I checked yesterday on the Amazon.com web site and I know that Michael's book is #8 overall and #1 in non-fiction. Well, I quickly saw all the other top sellers prominently displayed. After looking things over I told the clerk that I was looking for a particular book, "The Savage Nation". He said, "Oh yes, here you go" and pulled a book from a stack of leftover/miscellaneous ? books.
I asked him if they had it on display. He said, "We don't have it on disply anymore because it's not new". To which I told him that it was #1 in non-fiction. He said, "not here". I was referred to the 'political science' area. But I checked there and there were no Savage books. Unless they had been conveniently misplaced.
The liberal losers working in the stores can't handle the Savage truth. I love it!!!
I have listened to Savage for years, so I was not expecting to see anything new in his book. I scanned the first part though and was surprised to read that he had a brother who was born blind, mostly deaf and paralyzed. The brother lived in the apartment with them for five years and then was put in an institution. His mother visited the boy for the next 20 years once a week. Michael only said that "one day he would tell the rest of the story". That sounds very heavy. I would like to hear Michael tell that story. Maybe the brother is still alive in some home somewhere. Anyway, that was intereting.
I always knew that Savage was ahead of his time. I am glad that his book in a success. I hope it goes to #1 overall and the lousy, loser, liberals in the bookstores are forced to explain their NAZI ways in banning the best selling bookin the nation!!! I love it!
