FAYETTEVILLE -- An armed man entered a soldier's Fayetteville home and stole one pound of marijuana Wednesday night. The soldier, her roommate, and a friend followed the suspect's vehicle and called 911 during their pursuit.
The soldier, 24-year-old Linda Isabel Gonzalez did not immediately report to sheriff's detectives that the robber had taken the marijuana. She later admitted that the marijuana was stolen and did not want to pursue charges regarding the robbery.
The Fayetteville Police Department located the vehicle, apprehended the gunman along with the driver of the vehicle.
Gonzalez is an active military soldier in the Untied States Army assigned to the HHC 82nd Airborne Division. She has been charged with one count of possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver and one count of maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling controlled substances.
The robbery suspect, 16-year-old Bennie Joseph Dunlap has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver.
Dunlap is in the Cumberland County Jail under an $85,000 bond and will appear in court Friday at 9:00 a.m.

I wonder what is more serious, the weed possession and dealing by this woman or the thief. Also, if this is how our troops are moonlighting, I need to padlock my snack cabinet.

Uh, I hope the intelligence displayed by this woman doesn't represent that of the average American soldier, sheesh.

no offense taken
I had some real good friends who used to partake quite a bit. I didn't think much of it until I noticed changes in a close friend of mine over a period of about 6-7 years. He was chronic and the resulting personality metamorphosis was sad.

But was the weed her's,the roomate's,or the friend's? Within this article I'm not seeing her admit the stuff was her's,only that it was there and was stolen. Were the others charged as well?

This woman is too stupid to live. She seems to have less intelligence than your average protozoan. What kind of idiot would call the cops to report that she's doing something illegal? Sheesh.

Good 'ol asset forfeiture laws. Remember those? We were told that those laws would be used to nail all the 'big dealers' with lots of cars, yachts and big houses bought with drug money.
Well whadda' ya' know, it didn't turn out that way did it? The big fish are still operating same as usual while Joe Blow gets his house seized for growing a few plants ('manuufacturing' marijuana). For Joe Blow that's just about everything.
Gotta keep those new prisons full, dontcha' know.
Of course I can tell by your tag line that you already are aware of this type of thing.

maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling controlled substances. Never even heard of this one before. Looks like it's "Goodbye (your) house, Hellow (my) New Tank!" for the cops.
Anyone else notice that BOTH parties were charged with possession with intent to sell? Now how can that really be possible?
