Demi joins Charlie's Angels
Once upon a time there were three little girls ... now it's twice, because Charlie's Angels are coming back to the big screen. And this time there's a fourth angel in the shape of Demi Moore, returning to the big screen at the age of 40 to play the villain, "fallen angel" Madison Lee.
The mother of three, recently romantically linked with Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire, is said to have paid £250,000 for a head-to-toe makeover in preparation for her comeback, including cosmetic surgery to make her previous breast implants smaller, liposuction and dental work. She also hired a personal trainer, nutritionist, yoga instructor and kickboxing coach to get her into shape for her cameo role.
But she has had to take a fee far reduced from the £8 million a film she enjoyed at the height of her earning power in the Nineties, thanks to movies such as Indecent Proposal, and nowhere near the £13 million paid to Cameron Diaz to team up again with Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.
Moore's presence on set is said to have led to tension with the three other stars, who reportedly banned her from their private dining area, exercise room and lounge after finding she could still command the sort of perks she enjoyed in her heyday, including a luxurious dressing room to match their own, plus personal hair and make-up assistants.
One notable absentee from the sequel, Charlie's Angels 2: Full Throttle, is Bill Murray as Bosley, who was said to have clashed with Liu during the first film, although the actress recently denied being responsible for his absence and said she hoped to work with him again. He is replaced by comedian Bernie Mac who appears as the brother of Bosley - the girls' go-between with their unseen boss Charlie.
John Cleese stars as Lucy Liu's father. He has, however, been scathing about the film, complaining he was not given his lines until an hour before shooting.
Director McG promises the new film is "grittier, tougher and rougher" with more Matrix-style "wire work".
This time the agents are trying to solve the murders of five people from a witness protection programme. But fans will be disappointed to learn a musical number featuring the trio singing and dancing in the rain - with all the possibilities that entails - has been cut.

Judging by the political affiliations of the actresses, they ought to change the name to "Clinton's Angels."

Tobey McGuire? That's just cover so they won't talk about the fact that she is "dating" Clinton.

I don't think I've seen anything with Demi Moore in it. I've seen her on the cover of a few magazines.
I checked out the first Angels movie too, but I don't think anybody could have rescued it, except possibly Kate Jackson who used to fill my dreams when the show was on T.V.

Bernie Mac as Bill Murray's brother? I would love to hear the explanation for that.

That was my thought, too. Maybe it's a situation akin to "A Family Thing" with Robert Duvall and James Earl Jones.

I thought Demi's new boyfriend was Bill Clinton. At least that is what the tabloids said.

tension with the three other stars, who reportedly banned her from their private dining area, exercise room and lounge Put them all in a kiddie pool filled with lime Jello or mud, roll camera and let them have at it. That would sell some tickets.
