okay... NOW they have a reason to be mad.
I have always said that if you are going to constantly be villanized for something, you might as well have done something wrong.
Now lets go finish up the imperialism thing.
This was much better than watching dumbohuge

I just found the same video yesterday (Google searched: "ac130 movie").
Also read at another site that this may have been an AC130 or helicopter directing fire for OTHER aircraft.
Or is this in fact fire from the 105mm onboard the AC130?
Any expert analysis out there?

I wondered about that, myself. The AC 130 would have stalled at that speed, it seems.
To: hoosierskypilot
I'm wondering:
1) at what altitude would this AC-130 be operating? (this could explain the seeming slow orbit of the target area)
2) is the AC-130 typically used to direct/spot for other aircraft?
3) what is the biggest artillery piece carried by the AC-130
-and- would it cause the kind of damage shown in the clip?
anybody have any experience with this?

My take on it is purely subjective, but as a former private pilot (Piper Arrow II class), unless the images were magnified, the altitude was not very high. I'm guessing, but maybe 1000 feet?
Here are some of the specs: The side-firing weapons array consists of one 25mm GAU-12 Gatling gun (firing 1,800 rounds per minute), one 40mm L60 Bofors cannon (with a selectable firing rate of single shot or 120 rounds per minute) and one 105mm M-102 Howitzer cannon (firing 6 to 10 rounds per minute).
I image the cannon and Howitzer propel explosive warheads.

we need some technical expertise here.

Not my area. I never shot anything with more than 2 barrels or larger than 40mm bloopers.
