I asked my husband if he would've called the police after 1 1/2 hrs of not knowing where I was and he laughed because I easily could be doing stuff-not have my cell phone on etc....at the mall - etc

You're forgetting about Laci's purse and keys being left at home. When a guy sets up the perfect crime it's not fair to ignore the evidence he has manufactured. It is supposed to look like a "stranger abduction".
