I'm not following this like some of you, but as someone who has been in the company of a lot of pregnant women(expectant lists), I can tell you it's not unusual for the man to not be in on the appts and know the doctor. this is the WOMAN'S dr, not the couple's. I mean, a husband can't even find out the sex of HIS baby or be at the ultrasound unless his wife says it's ok. I just wanted to say it's not unusual for a man not to even know who a wife's dr is. My hubby would have been clueless as to my dr's exact name. He'd only went once with me to listen to the heartbeat and then to a completely different office for the 20 week ultrasound(which my doctor was not at). He probably learned her name when I actually delivered and we were around her for several hours.
Anyway, just putting my .02 that not calling the doc could be nothing. If a man does not attend a lot of appts, than it probably wouldn't be at the forefront of his mind to call her OB. Out of sight, out of mind.
If he called family and friends before calling police, one would have to think that he did not call the hospital because of that. He probably would have assumed that if she went into labor she would have called family. I think when you don't know who else to call and it's unusual for your pregnant wife to not be home on a holiday(did they have a meeting? were they supposed to meet back at the house at 5pm and after waiting an hour and half hubby became worried?)
I'm just throwing a few things around I haven't seen on some of these threads. I'm not willing to indict this guy yet from what I've read on any of these threads(and I haven't read all of them). I hope they find the body, if she is dead, and soon so it can shed some light on how and who murdered her.

Many of the same things were going through my head as I read this thread.

I'll add one other thing. I can't imagine what the family is going through right now. IF it were my daughter potentially in the water, I would NOT appreciate having the police announce the possibility on a Thursday night and then state that they probably won't go back until Saturday.

Why not just quietly tell the family, unless they really are trying to smoke out the killer?

Prayer for the family.

Agree with everything you posted. When I went into labor with our first, it was the middle of the night. I decided to take a quick shower before waking up hubby. He heard the shower, came in, I delivered the good news AND.....he went back to bed! When he DID wake back up to take me to hospital, he was dressed in his suit (2AM). Figured we'd have the baby and then he could get in a full day of work! Men just don't behave the way we women think they should and that doesn't mean they aren't doting husbands or fathers.

My husband would never have called my OB if I had been missing. NEVER!

I also don't think it odd that he stored his fishing gear in the baby's room.
