Next week, Gretta Duisenberg, wife of European Central Bank president Wim Duisenberg, will visit the territories. Dozens of foreign journalists will cover her meetings with Yasser Arafat and with Israeli MKs. Duisenberg has been at the center of a storm of controversy ever since she hung a Palestinian flag from the balcony of her Amsterdam home six months ago.

One thing that is very strange and quite funny about Arafathead is the presence of boxes of diaper-wipes in many pictures of his offices, living quarters, etc. Someone did a collage of about eight pics that showed this, including one of the damn things right next to his bed when the IDF cratered his house several months back. What's up with that?

Israel canceled a few visas of PA kleptocrats, bound for a do-nothing conference were they would pretend to be "reformers," and Europeans would pretend to accept this ludicrous imposterature --- Israel took this almost entirely symbolic measure in lieu of a military response to the latest mass murder of Israeli civilians (22 dead, 100+ wounded) by Arafat's Fatah movement --- and with this incredibly mild and restrained response, they, the Israelis, are the ones "hampering efforts to end the bloodshed"???!!!???!!!???

I have difficulty understanding the logic here, if any. It must be because I am an "unsophisticated" American.
